I'm using these to connect attachments to cable machines I use for weight training and these have held up very well after two months of heavy use. The link locks into place and the locking mechanism is easy to manipulate. Even though it does grind against other mental parts quite frequently, the exterior coating hasn't scratched or peeled in any way.

We use these types of rings for a lot of purposes and these have proven to be fairly sturdy. They fasten on securely (when I remember to screw the nut into place) and so far, haven't let me down. But I haven't tested them in situations where a lot of pressure or weight has been placed upon them--I've only used them up to perhaps 50lbs or so. They work great to fasten things to my backpack though when I've used them in that way.

We live on a small horse farm. Chains, winches, wires, shackles, etc… are a fact of life around here. I ordered these specifically to use one as a wire guide on an overhead winch to keep the wires from slipping off the pulley when there’s no load. As the pictures show it will work but I’d prefer it to be a little smaller. I’ll throw the other one in the front of my Mule utility truck along with the chains, shackles, straps, and ropes I keep for various tasks. It’s actually a very good size for that. I wouldn’t trust them for use on my big truck. That could certainly end up over the stated 2000 pound working limit. To be honest I wouldn’t trust this quick link for anywhere near that. It’s not hardened steel and nowhere does the description claim it to be good for pulling loads. I would describe it as a being for medium duty loads. The description claims in one place that the link is made of stainless steel. In another place it says Carbon Steel. Although it is possible to be called both since all steel is basically iron and carbon with stainless having added chromium it’s not the norm. It is either considered carbon steel or stainless steel. With high carbon steel being significantly stronger than low carbon steel and carbon steel is generally not as strong as stainless. I said all that to reinforce my reasons for not considering this piece to be heavy duty. I wouldn’t count on it to pull my truck out of a ditch or pull a medium to large tree out of the woods.

Looks like a good product, but just be aware that the flange on the threaded end is larger than in the picture, making the diameter in that area 1/2" instead of 3/8" and making it too large for the chain I purchased it for. Won't affect the average user, but just something to note.

Used these to leave installed on my truck to make slipping the stainless wire for the emergency brake controller 500 milliseconds faster to install. Totally worked.People that use these to secure their safety chains to their truck are INSANE. I suspect your trailer would rip these off if the safety chains engaged. #epicfail
