I am not impressed by this kit. It is inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The first aid supplies are very minimal - a few bandages and alcohol swabs. You also get some mediocre quality emergency supplies like a whistle, cheap compass, cheap wire saw, etc. All this comes in a metal box that has no latch so it keeps popping open unless you tie it shut with a rope or nylon strap. This kit might be more useful for letting the kids experiment with emergency tools at home. When they break, you can buy real emergency supplies to carry into the backcounty.

This Stanford Vintage Emergency kit is just perfect for me. Some of the items are quite useful for camping and most of the items are perfect for everyday needs. The string saw and firestarter are great. Love the multipurpose knife with screwdrivers, pliers, file, knife and can opener. Just enough bandaids and wound dressings to take care of a quick emergency. The multipurpose pocket survival tool (safely enclosed in a plastic cover) is a super additional tool. Compass and whistle quite useful for me too. The tin is small and easy to carry in my purse or backpack. Overall a lot of useful tools in a small convenient tin.
