Very cute and it works great. I much prefer these to traditional life jackets. Unlike life jackets, they don't slide up to the child's chin or make it difficult for them to swim. The puddle jumper makes it easy for kids to practice swimming and give them freedom in the pool. I love them and will continue to use them for my kids.

I bought this for my vacation with my 4 1/2 year old son. He's slim, about 3 1/2' tall, and 38 pounds, and this fit him perfectly. It clips in the back very securely, and there is room enough for him to grow into it, but I was never worried he would slip out. The arm holes fit snugly enough so his arms weren't slipping around, but like I said, he is slim, so for a larger child you may have to wet the swimmie first, but I think most arm swimmies are the same way. All in all, I think this would fit most children between 30-50lbs, as it says, unless your child is particularly large around the arms. The puddle jumper let him swim around the pool by himself the entire time (obviously I was still with him in the pool, but he wouldn't let me guide him around, and my son doesn't get much swimming experience at home). His head was above the water, and he could also float on his back if he wanted to. This product really eased my worries about letting go of him, because he could swim around as much as he wanted without dipping underwater at all. Also, since the puddle jumper is a coast guard approved life jacket, we were able to put it on him when we went on a boat ride with my grandfather, and because there was nothing around his neck, he was able to move about the boat more freely than the usual life jackets, and he was also allowed to wear it when we went to the beach (many beaches prohibit "water wings" and other swimmies) and still had plenty of use with his arms and shoulders to build sandcastles.I highly, highly recommend this life jacket. My son was comfortable, I had peace of mind, and it made transitioning to each vacation spot simple and safe!

I have tried several different types of swim aids with my children: floatation swimsuits, life jackets, life jackets with arm bands, etc. My search ended once we tried Puddle Jumpers. At first, my two year old was very frightened of the water. I would hold her while she'd pull at my swimsuit and scratch at me. When I put her in the puddle jumper, at first she did still want to be held, but within one hour of wearing it, she was floating independently and didn't want me to touch her.The design is fabulous. It is very easy to slip on and off, even while wet. It has only one latch which is on the back., Initially, I was concerned about that being the only strap. I was worried that the floatation device would ride up like so many swim vests do. My concerns were all for naught. The Puddle Jumper stays put around the child's chest. The float itself keeps the child, well, floating! The float is NOT for babies, however, so please do not try it even on larger infants who meet the weight requirement. The design requires that the child have some understanding that he/she needs to keep his/her face out of the water to breathe and the ability to do so. It's not difficult for a toddler, thanks to the design. All they have to do is hold their head up normally.Even when my daughter, who has turned into quite the water baby, tries to submerge herself, she pops right back up. Her favorite trick is lying on her back and sinking just an inch or so, before the floatation device turns her around right back on her belly again and her face is out of the water. Our Puddle Jumper has given my daughter so much confidence. She can now jump in the water, go down toddler sized water slides, and "swim" around the pool under her own power. To me, it looks uncomfortable. However, it must not be, because my daughter is very much a girl and VERY two. If she was the slightest bit unhappy wearing it, she would make it known.... loudly.I am so grateful to have found the Puddle Jumper and equally grateful to earlier reviewers who convinced me that this product was worth trying. I just wish we had known about it ten years ago for our older children!

I purchased this for my 2.5 year old grandson and he just loves it. It allows him to be in the pool without a lifejacket and without being constantly held. An adult is always in the pool with him but we never have to help him. He just floats around and can easily keep his head above water. He's learning that when he kicks his feet he can move around more. It's better than water wings for a couple of obvious reasons ... (1) you don't have to blow up the arms and risk a leak resulting in deflation and (2) the extra part across the front adds enough bouyancy to keep his head above the water with ease. I don't know if it's a certified lifejacket in Canada (it might be, I just haven't looked into that so I can't vouch for that) but we don't use it as a lifejacket but rather a swimming aid. I hope you find this review helpful.
