I had the old rubber push in and flip the handle to tighten. We the insert aluminum disintegrated and plug would not stop all the water. It bought this got some silicone and two #8 stainless steel screws. Dry fit it drilled holes for screws applied the silicone pushed it in the hole put in the screws waited until silicone was cured and went fishing. No water in bilge at all. Great fast fix. The best part is that if you hole like mine was over the 1" it still works.

Have not install but based on the look and feel of the garboard, this is a great deal. Highly recommended.
