This 3000-piece puzzle mat has plenty of room for up to 3000-piece puzzles. If you are setting a 3000-piece puzzle, there is only a narrow border on the mat; smaller puzzles will have extra room for pieces. There is a note on the edge of the mat: “It is recommended to iron the mat before use. Ironing will give you the flattest surface.” I found this note concerning because the mat is already completely flat, and ironing the surface will likely damage the mat. The materials have a little bit of odor. The black background color works, but is not dark enough for useful contrast with puzzle pieces; the white guide markings and text for puzzle sizes from 1000-3000 pieces, with 1000-piece circular, are thick enough to be distracting. The surface is smooth enough for moving pieces. This is a thin mat, with a rubber backing, or bottom; it holds the mat in place well. Six trays are provided in neutral colors: three tan and three black; and appear to be made of plastic leather. The tray snaps require firm pressure to close or open, and they hold securely. The trays can be used with the snaps closed to hold or sort piles of pieces, and left unsnapped, can be used to assemble small sections, then easily slide pieces to the mat. Storing the mat involves laying the unsnapped trays anywhere in the middle, then rolling or wrapping the mat around the porous foam tube. Once rolled, the three velcro and buckle straps go around the center and ends of the mat to hold everything in place. This can be done with or without storing a puzzle in progress. Note that puzzles in progress can be slightly bent or shifted in any rolled mat. Once assembled, the mat slides easily in the bag. The opening has an adjustable string closure and the adjustable wide strap makes the bag comfortable to carry. The thinness of the mat plus the lighter weight tube also reduce weight to make the set easier to carry. Instructions for assembling the pieces are both on the outside of the box and on the flyer inside. For product support, customers are encouraged to go through Amazon; there is no company contact information provided in the packaging. This is made in China. Suggestions to make this set better would be to make the background a darker black, reduce the brightness of the white markings on the mat, provide company contact info for support, and provide more—and larger—trays for working with the pieces, especially relevant for larger puzzles. It is nice to have a mat like this for working with larger puzzles, and it has useful design elements to reduce carrying weight. If you need a mat for puzzles larger than 1500 pieces, this one is worth considering.

10/10, best puzzle mat ever!!! We’ve been using this mat once a week for several weeks now (we work on a puzzle during “in home date night”), and it has worked fantastically! I’m always afraid the puzzle is going to be destroyed when we unwrap it, but we haven’t even had to put anything back together when it’s unrolled. The mat is super thick and durable. Comes with a nice stiff sturdy foam noodle to roll it up in and three straps, plus a carrying case and even little leather like snap up trays for holding and sorting pieces. We are so impressed with this mat, and we love that we can now enjoy puzzles again while still having small kids (since we can’t leave the puzzle out anywhere). If you’re a puzzle lover you need this mat!

This is great for storing your in-progress puzzles. It holds puzzles that are up to 3000 pieces. You just lay it out on the table, start building a puzzle, and roll it up when you're ready for a break and need to use your table again.A styrofoam tube is included for use when rolling up. You also get three velcro straps to tie it up after. Additionally, a carrying case is provided for storing all the items.You also receive six trays for sorting puzzle pieces of different colors or shapes. The trays snap together. The puzzle mat remains nice and flat, and the puzzle pieces slide smoothly. This mat is a must-have for puzzle builders and a good value for the price.

Great padded mat with a rubber backing to prevent the mat from moving around as you reach across it. The mat also contains measurements for various sizes of puzzles with the outlines as well to help keep the edges straight.The mat is large enough for a 3000 piece Ravensburger puzzle with a couple of inches left on each side. Edge stitching is tight and hopefully will withstand years of "abuse". Comes with what can only be described as a pool noodle to place along the short edge to assist with rolling up the mat when needing to put away the puzzle for space purposes.

I love everything about this puzzle mat. We only have one table big enough for large puzzles and it is also the dining table. Now I will be able to assemble my large puzzles because I can roll the mat up during meals and put it back afterward. I love that it has a pool noodle to keep the roll bigger so as not to damage the pieces. It has a really nice density to it and rubbery grip on the bottom so it won't shift all over. I don't know if I will use the little trays much as I already have puzzle trays but they are a nice addition to the set. I highly recommend this rollable puzzle mat!
