I really wanted to like this mug. It's as pretty in person as it in the pictures, and I couldn't spot any misalinged details or chips. That it's entirely ceramic, including the strainer, is really visually appealing. The lid holds in steam well and holds the strainer easily. The problem comes in construction. At the end of the day, the ceramic of the mug is just too thin. It was difficult to hold hot tea without burning your hands and it was always a bit nerve-wracking washing it in the sink for fear of chipping. If you drink a lot of tea and use this as your regular mug, it'll eventually start leaking. Mine lasted about six weeks of twice-a-day use. I couldn't visually see any cracks, but i tested it by putting a full cup on a dry paper towel and confirmed that water was leaking out. The strainer is made of thicker ceramic, but is not ideal for making tea-- it's a little too cramped for the leaves to flow well in the liquid, which means it takes longer for leaves to properly rehydrate. It's also a bit of a pain to clean, I couldn't clean the strainer holes with just a rag or sponge. It's still a beautiful mug that does the job, but I wouldn't recommend using it as a regular mug if you want it to last, maybe just for special occasions.

Otherwise the cat head is a great idea. Got this for my mother. You have to be careful with it I guess. The strainer is still holding up, which is much appreciated.
