I wanted something to protect my Bible. This was the exact measurements and it is snug but I am hoping after some time the leather will soften. I like the quality and the stitching is really nice also.

The leather is very hard and the latch does not close properly. Not practical.

Be sure you check the size of the book you may be putting into this - it is smaller than it looks, but the dimensions given are correct. The leather is well tanned, and pliable. The stitching is tight. Be careful though, the cover is easy to mark with fingernails (or anything else) so be careful handling it if you plan to gift it. I am actually keeping this one for me, as a cover for a journal, but I will order at least one more as a gift. Highly recommend.

This is a really handsome leather carrier for kindles and other small books - the material is a rich, tough saddle-like true leather (not PU leather or vinyl), smooth to the touch but thick and resilient. It scratches easily, but in the way that real leather does, and looks better for the wear. As someone who always carries a book and lives in a very rainy climate, I've long needed something to keep my books dry while I roam about the city. Before now I've mostly tucked books into my jacket or kept them in an unsightly ziplock bag; this elegant leather case is a much better solution. My only complaint is that it is not a bit larger - most trade paperbacks are roughly 8"x5" and this is substantially smaller. It's perfect for a kindle or other small books, but I hope that this seller eventually offers this item in larger sizes.
