This works well. But purchase a good hygrometer too, otherwise you can over-humidify. I've recently purchased the VISOSUN AeroLab THB1S Hygrometer, with probe and Bluetooth capability. This is amazing for $20! Originally, I thought it was over-the-top to get a Bluetooth hygrometer, but every time I opened the case my hygrometer would change very quickly. Anyway, with several of these probe-style hygrometers and several of these Martin humidifiers, I learned that by placing TWO of them inside my guitar, I was OVER-humidifying it! Now with several of these Martin humidifiers, several Bluetooth hygrometers, several sets of Boveda humidipacks, and some "soap-dish" sponges under the headstock, I have been able to dial in the best humidity control for my guitars ever! Short of purchasing an entire room humidifier--which I suppose would be the proper way--these devices do the trick.

Simple system to humidify guitars. I have several and I’m very happy with them.

My guitar instructor suggested I used this for my Martin guitars. Easy to use.

I have been using the Oasis guitar humidifier for many years, and they work good for a guitar with sound holes. I recently acquired an archtop guitar with F holes and the Oasis humidifiers don't work with that style of guitar. I purchased the RDM Guitar Humitron Humidifier for this reason. I was somewhat concerned that water would drip inside the guitar with these. After submerging the humidifier, I wipe it dry and then hold it up until I am sure nothing will be dripping off the bottom. I then insert it into the F holes. I purchased two humidifiers so I insert one into each side of the guitar. I have only had these for a few day so I don't have much more to report.

This item keeps my acoustic guitar healthy, especially during the winter months when humidity may decrease drastically, as well as throughout the year to keep the levels relatively even; I would highly suggest distilled water (about 99 cents per gallon, or free if you have your own still) as tap water may have minerals or might even allow bacterial growth (if it feels slimy, then you've got that); otherwise, just soak it to allow the sponge to absorb the water, dry any excessive water with a cloth or tissue before inserting it into the sound hole with the two middle strings set into the grooves to hold in place, relax & enjoy.
