I live in the U.S. and bought this for a trip to India and Egypt. I was not aware I needed something like this vs a simple adapter. This "steps down" the power of a 220 outlet so that it does not fry your U.S. 110 products. If you just use an adapter to make the prongs fit the plug, you will be sending the full 220 through your product that is set to run on 110. I used a set of heat rollers that did get hotter than they ever have in the U.S., but they did not fry out and worked fine once back in the U.S.The pictures makes this look big, but it's lightweight and fit easily in my checked bag. The USB and C charging ports on the side were also helpful for charging phones and laptops. The extra adapters that come with it were not needed because the plug on the unit was the correct style for my location and I only used the plugs on the unit.I thought this worked great and I recommend.

Very complete converter/adapter set. Well made and works perfectly.I just did a trip to London and Ghana and had no issues whatsoever

I was as advertised but it comes as a UK plug…either offer a US plug or include a US adapter…Jim

Bought this for a trip to France and Italy. Was able to use our curling iron, and hair straightener without any issues. We didn't try to use a hair dryer. We used it to charge multiple devices as well. Worked perfectly..

Works exactly as advertised. It is much smaller and lighter than the previous adapter I have used.
