I purchased these for use on our RV. Our running lights were becoming loose as the screws were just fastened to the aluminum apron material only (with no fastener on the backside). They work well for more securely fastening the lights to the aluminum. Just use these like a regular nut for the screw to bite into. When using, make sure that you place the flat side TOWARD the screw. I was very happy with the way this worked out. So much so, that I also put these on the screws that were connecting seams of the aluminum together and it worked out great!

My local Home Depot had these in a package of one for $1.89 each. Can't beat the price.

The Hillman speed nuts shipped were square in shape (shown in my posted picture on the left) rather than rectangular shaped as shown in the product picture on Amazon (or like the ones I bought at Home Depot on the right). Functionally they worked, however, I had a particularly tight application where the rectangular shape would have slipped in much easier. Although the product dimensions listed are incorrect the #8-32 threading is correct. As with all speed nuts you have to make sure you do not install backwards or they will slip. The bolt must go through the non-threaded side first.
