As I had enough of another paste to finish of the tube I never used the Thermaltake TG-30 paste so the jury is still out on that. The Stencil on the other hand needs further comment: The back of the stencil is covered in an adhesive to STICK to the CPU while you apply the paste, a vague outline can be seen when you pull it off. The Stencil size is ideal for smaller Intel CPU's but must be centred for Ryzen and misses out the corners completely, not so good if one of the chiplets in in the top right hand corner like my R5 3600.

This thermal grease comes in several amounts. It seems Thermaltake uses the same size syringe, just fills it to the amount you ordered.Being non-conductive unlike other brands means you can be a little sloppy when applying this & not worrying about short circuiting & damaging your equipment. Also being a grease, this not not an adhesive or glue so you will still need to use the screws or clamps to hold the heat sink / cooling fan to your CPU or other chip.You use this grease so the entire surface of your chip contacts the full surface of the heat sink. By covering the entire surface & filling in all of the little pits & scratches this allows for better & complete heat transfer.You don't use this to smear over everything as it does not help cooling that way. That would only attract dust & cause other issues.If you are new to applying thermal grease the included template can help you not apply too much & keep the thickness even & not gush out like when you put too much jelly on your sandwich & press down on your bread.I have not noticed any issues with the leaking out after use when things gets hot. I have purchased many other Thermaltake products over the years but this is my first thermal grease from them. Currently I have 0 complaints about the product or it's performance.

Review of Thermaltake TG-30 Premium CPU/GPU Heatsink Thermal Compound | 4g | CL-O023-GROSGM-AThis is trying to aid the user to apply a more even distribution of thermal compound when thermal compound must be replaced either to deterioration of the old compound or when the heat sink was separated from the CPU. More even and consistent distribution is achieved by having a thinner paste than does not have to be worked over the surface and also by reducing extremely small air bubbles that may help lead to hot spots.Comparison of CPU temperatures before and after applying this product really are not valid because what is happening is that the user is comparing and older and more broken down product to a fresh application. Think of it as comparing the taste of a beer that has been left open for several hours to one fresh out of a bottle or tap. If properly and evenly applied new thermal compound will always perform better than old, dried out.Different people swear that various application methods are superior to others but much of this depends upon the user. This adds to the mix of differing application methods.The video basically shows the application of this compound better than I can describe. There will be some wastage of product over the honeycomb stencil but there frequently is excessive wastage with other products due to applying too much and/or too thick.I have a good opinion of the quality of Thermaltake products so I am not concerned that this thermal compound will degrade too quickly over time. I probably would go with the TG-50 over TG-30 if or when I needed to purchase additional thermal compound due to a higher thermal conductivity.
