Needed to flare some break lines and had no experience. Watched some videos, picked up this flaring tool kit. and 30 minutes later had new flared break lines. Did a few practice runs to get the feel for the toll and after some adjustments to my technique, worked great for me. My error was not tightening enough and having a clean square cut. Those two errors on my part caused the flare to be improper and not clean. Cut nice square ends, properly seat the tubing and tighten down properly and the results where exactly what they should be. Breaklines are in, no leaks, and most importantly, my pickup stops when I hit the brakes.

This kit made replacing my brake lines much easier than expected. After watching some YouTube videos and making a couple test joints (double-flairs) I was able to replace all the brake lines in my truck in a couple hours. I found that the most important part is preparation of the cut tubing by filing it flat before making the flair. I used the copper-nickel alloy which bends and flairs much easier, especially important when working underneath a vehicle.

This kit works as advertised and did a great job of double flaring my brake lines. No leaks when assembled. This set is not professional grade, but definitely good enough for the occasional user. No complaints.

Works great on the soft steel aftermarket lines. It was difficult to use on the factory steel lines as they were much harder steel. You really have to crank down the tightening screws and I had to go back and rework the flare. Also my factory lines were coated so you have to get that coating stuff off before you can patch into them. I managed to use a hand crimping tool for coax cable and I used the stripping function to pull the coating off. Overall the tool works well and it saved me a big repair bill.
