The shine enough light downward so you can see in a room but not enough to be too bright. We keep one in each bathroom and one in the guest room for visitors. Last set we had last nearly 8 years before the battery wore out.

Great little flashlights. Do wish the nightlight was a brighter but serves it's pirpose. Let's you find the flashlight in the dark.

Loss of power = Emergency Light. Because it is an induction charger, nothing to unplug in an emergency, a grab and go flashlight + an amber nightlight on the base although it does not produce a whole light of light but is visible from a distance. That might even work better for a smoke filled room for example. The flashlight itself is not a whole lot of lumens, but it'll get the job done in an emergency. The sole drawback - and it is minor - the plug in base of the charger is a tad wider then it should be which limits plugging it in to a side outlet on an AC Extension Adapter for example. Time will tell though just how good this is, but the concept and the product passes critical testing with my critical eye.

Works very well as a flashlight and as a dim night light. The flashlight comes on when there is a power failure.If the power fails while you're sleeping the flashlight is not so bright as to wake you up. The yellow night lightis quite dim but bright enough to give a subtle illumination to see the room when waking up in the middle of the night. Just right in my opinion. Glad I bought this because it is what I was looking for.

Great product, the little (night light) gives a soft light I wish it was a bit brighter but it works ok, it turns on automatically as the room gets dark; when the power goes out, the flashlight turns on automatically which is perfect to keep kids calm and know exactly where your flashlight is... Love it... will order more
