Very bulky. Did not stay and baby did not like it. Customer service was great though.

I will start by saying the quality is outstanding. Great suction and stays put with out curling or peeling up. The design and material is quality. My baby had a shallow latch And Bit/clamped down for the first month that was so painful, my nipple would be flat when I'd get him off. With this, Baby latchd perfectly first try and all 4 of the times I tried to use this. It also was enough padding between him and the nipple that i barely felt his clamping (it only started hurting once my nipple was sucked into the shield nipple after a minute)HOWEVER. I have very elastic nipples so although it fit ( though on the snug side for 19mm) after he nursed for a minute my nipple would expand and get sucked into the MUCH more narrow shield nipple and pinch my nipple; with the great suction of the shield, it essentially recreates my baby's shallow latch biting. Needless to say I could not use it. If they could figure out a way to either make the nipple part wider for a real nipple to gently be present inside it, that would solve the problem of the pinch for many and also the gap problem for others. The gap was Not an issue for us because the great suction paired with the deep latch that this promotes did allow for good transfer of milk from shield to baby. Could be a Great product for smaller shallow nipples. But needs improvement or varying sizes for those who's nipples are larger or elastic!

My little was in the NICU for a month and has become a bottle baby… I successfully exclusively nursed two other kids for almost five years total between the two, with a couple of those tandem nursing… This little has been a challenge, and other shields were for other purposes or had a terrible design! The inner suction section is excellent to keep the shield attached without holding it the entire time, it’s comfortable, and seems very durable. My little latched without frustration. I did pump enough to a letdown before placing it on, and placed several drops in the end of the nipple. The thickness is really good, thick enough for durability and resemble a bottle but thin enough to maintain stimulation of my nipple. It has a really nice case that keeps it clean, stays closed, and doesn’t feel cheap. Its performance is great, and it’s a really good value for the money. I’m glad I purchased it!

My lactation consultant lambasted this. She said no LC was consulted in designing this because of the way it works. It didn’t do a ton for us, so we ditched it as soon as the LC said to. I think LC said that the suction doesn’t stimulate the nipple in the right way to get milk going.

I will start by saying that my baby was born at 32.5 weeks, so she spent a few weeks in the NICU. At first she was tube fed, then transitioned to bottles. Once we were home I was able to breastfeed more, but she was used to a bottle nipple and had trouble latching to my Medela nipple shield. This shield was a life saver at first. It is great quality and even has an inner suction ring so it doesn’t fall off easily. My baby latched very well, but she easily collapsed the nipple which caused my nipple to get pulled up into the shield and pinched, which was pretty painful. This was just my experience! I have heard many success stories using this brand.
