I added a $0.05 washer under the adjustment knob to make it stepless for espresso. Had it in the ballpark on the second shot, dialed the third, and it was one of the best shots I've had, only second to a $4000 grinder pulled on a $7000 machine, and it's consistent. Grinding is fun and takes about 90 sec. Worth the time for the taste and hundreds in savings.All metal, ball bearings, nice handle, rubber bottom dossing cup, this thing is a winner!

After much research came across this grinder ensuring to get the latest C3 version with ceramic grinding blades and the metal top on the handle (versus old plastic version). My old electric blade grinder just caused the coffee to have a bitter taste and was on a quest to make the perfect at home cup of coffee versus the poor restaurant grades or guchi priced coffee stands. I coupled this with my Airscape Bean canister holder which keeps beans from my local hand milled shop super fresh (due to the release of all air) and my Aeropress single press coffee maker for a perfect cup of coffee. This grinder works perfectly although took a bit to figure out you must have the handle on as per instructions to make the grind selection level on the bottom. Do think this could be improved as it's based on counting clicks versus a visual selection feature. The first cup of coffee was so delicious I slurped it down in seconds versus the usual slow slip. Hubby was highly impressed with the resulting coffee as well, and every day its great to look forward to a great cup of coffee. Also grinds espresso beans great for a perfect latte. The unit is a very well made heavy duty piece and although thought it pricey for a hand grinder (waited for a sale), it will easily pay for itself without having to buy a coffee every day. Bonus is I can make a great cup of coffee on my RV travels as well. My only recommendation to the manufacturers would be to create a stand much like the ones you attach to a small propane cannister as this would allow you to better support the unit on the counter as you grind your beans. Found this the better way as you need to hold the unit upright for even distribution/grinding. Would highly recommend this unit which works simply and portably to achieve a fantastic cup of coffee.
