I have been fixing my skis for half of a century now. If you want to have fun you are more likely to encounter some rocks. And then comes the need to fix some gouges.I have been using black PTEX sticks from this company for last couple of years. This time around I picked this kit - mainly to have some clear PTEX sticks for the portions of my ski that are not black. The sandpaper, scotch-brite pads and scraper came basically for free.Note that the black PTEX sticks typically provide better quality repair than the clear ones. I remember similar results from the past.I prefer using a solid steel block (like "Square Lathe Turning Tool Blank" B07KCB6CYP) to cut excess PTEX and make the base flat again before smoothening the surface with sand paper.Do not forget to give your skis (hot) wax layer - at least in the repaired section but better yet the entire ski.To remove extra wax from the surface you may use the metal scraper from this package. (It probably doesn't qualify as 'stainless steel' as advertised since it is magnetic - but even plated steel doe s the job and perhaps even better).

I ordered this product to repair downhill skies. The price for this product is very competitive. However, the product came missing some content.Amazon solved the issue very fast by accepting response and replacing with the same very fast with free delivery. That was my first ever return. It was handled very good!

It was very easy to repair the base of my skis with this product. Used a grill lighter to melt the base filler. There is enough product to last a lifetime unless you ski the back country or the park. I do not know if the filler will hold since I haven’t skied yet this season, possibly tomorrow since Snowshoe opens tomorrow Thursday December 5th.
