I always used a broken head of a broom and doubled up trash bags to carefully collect and dispose of metal shavings and it was doing a decent enough job so I didn't think I'd find this that useful, but once I got this my world changed. It's not perfect, but it collects chips easily and quickly. I still sweep up for smaller pieces, but it's easier to handle than before. Once it's full, I take it over to the garbage and pull the handle to retract the magnet and release all of the shavings. It's cool watching it go. I deducted a star because it's not made the best and there are visible seam lines and other evidence of it being manufactured to a lower price point. Even though it's a tool to be used in rough scenarios, I still like my tools to look and feel high quality. Big seam lines the entire length of the handle from the molding doesn't help that, but it's whatever. Another thing to note is that there is nothing to lock the release rod in place. The rod is free moving until the magnet latches onto something so the rod will slide out through gravity if nothing is engaging the magnet at the tip. Overall I'm content with this and it has made cleaning up easier.

I have a small garage workshop where I do a lot of metal working. I wanted this mainly for picking up drill shavings off my bench top drill press. I have a bit of clutter[LOL] and I can reach down around all of it to get the shavings. Totally Satisfied!!

I’m not a professional metalworker. I don’t have a machine shop. I’m a DIYer who’s learning to weld my own projects, so I’m obviously doing a lot of grinding, cutting, and filling. It makes a mess and metal splinters really suck. Add to that my wife tends to use the garage to work out in, so I can’t exactly have her rolling around and walking on metal shavings. I’d been thinking about getting some sort of magnetic pickup tool to help clean up. This isn’t designed as a roller for the ground but uses a pretty decent job anyway. It’s really handy for cleaning up the bench and workspace. It cleans off very easily by pulling the rod out - everything just falls off. To me, this is well worth the asking $$.

The bolts are half the weight of a comparable steel bolt. They should hold up to corrosion better than steel bolts too. Unfortunately, one of the bolts has a slightly smaller socket that wont fit my metric allen bit.

Ordered two packages for a total of eight. One of the eight screws had the incorrect head size and diameter. I could partially relate if this happened once every 1,000 or such, but not in these nominal quantity. According to other buyers, the head size are inconsistent.

One of the four bolts didn't have the hex cut into it. It was completely round (not very useful). Also, these were actually heavier than the bolts I wanted to replace (they were aluminum).
