We have a very large American Akita, and since we live in Florida, he sheds buckets of double coat fur pretty much year-round.I've tried numerous other rakes through the years and this is my favorite. This rake certainly seems to get deeper into his fur and removes more hair more easily than others. The rake is very well made and is quite sturdy with no noticeable flexing/bending.

worked at a respectable kennel and the guy used similar tools regularly; was surprised at the low price but the quality seems solid after first use. large rake has a good weight and both are free of any blemishes or wobble.

I use the large “rake” on my Maine coon cats and they love it. Surprised how much hair such a wide tooth can get off of them! Nice because it doesn’t pull on their hair as much as a finer tooth brush but still gets the hair.
