This kit handled business. I’ve used a few different rivnuts in the past, but most were either made of mystery metal or the threads felt like they were chewed in by a squirrel. These? Clean threading, solid crush, and they didn’t spin out when tightened down—always a win in my book. I installed an M6 into some steel channel with my hand tool, and it cinched up tight without drama. The zinc coating looks solid too, so they’re not gonna rust out the first time they see moisture. The case is the usual “won’t survive the apocalypse, but works for now” plastic setup. I do appreciate the variety—everything from M3 to M12, so you’re covered whether you’re mounting a GoPro or beefing up brackets. If you’ve got a decent rivnut tool and know how to drill a proper-sized hole, this little kit is a no-brainer. I’ll definitely be grabbing another when I start running low.

I actually broke a rivet mandrel with these. They are super strong steel rivets, meaning, if your rivet tool is only designed for lighter aluminum or light stainless steel rivet nuts, do not use it with these because these will destroy it. Metric sized properly and otherwise work as they should assuming you have a nut tool that is strong enough for carbon steel rivet nuts.

I like this set - They give ya a good selection of SAE rivet nuts # 6 through 3/8" - and you get 10 pieces of 3/8 not 2 to 4 pieces like other sets I've bought. 20 pieces of the 5/16, and (50) 1/4". 240 pieces total of Zinc plated nicely machined with nice od knurl and good thread rivet nuts. I tested some of the 1/4 inch - they buckle and clamp nice and tight. The case is decent - it isn't going to last a millenia - but it should be serviceable for quite some time. It's a little longer than 7 inches, a little wider than 5, and not quite an inch and a half deep. It is not made from the feathers of any geese; it's plastic and has two locking latches that do a good job keeping her shut. There are adjustable plastic separators - so you can re-organize when you get more or burn up any particular flavor. I like this set - nice rivet nuts & a fair price.5 Stars

Excellent selection of common sizes for anyone working with blind holes in sheet metal. I have a lot of aluminum boat work and it always seems that I need to attach something in a spot where I can't get to the back side. Nothing beats a rivet nut for those situations. Being made of carbon steel, the larger nuts can be a bit tough to install without a long handled compound leverage tool. All of the nuts I tried threaded easily onto the corresponding screw. The plastic storage container is a plus.

My rivnut tool came with both SAE and metric mandrels. I only had SAE rivnuts, so I decided to get some metric ones to carry on the truck (I am a certified RV tech). That way, anytime I need one, I will have it handy.I did a test pull of one of the M5 nuts into a steel channel and it was great. Pulled tight and didn't spin in the hole. Always make sure to use the smallest possible hole to get the insert into the hole, so it has the maximum amount of metal to grab on to.For the record, the thread sizes (verified with thread gauges) in the assortment are:M3-0.5M4-0.7M5-0.8M6-1.0M8-1.25M10-1.5M12-1.75That makes them coarse thread sizes for the larger ones (when there are multiple thread pitches to choose from). The largest may be hard to pull with my hand tool, but we'll see when/if I need one that big. These are zinc-coated steel, so you don't want to use in aluminum. Also, make sure to use steel hardware with them. Or, if you need aluminum, you should purchase aluminum rivnuts/hardware instead to avoid galvanic corrosion issues.Comes in a decent little divided case, which is a pretty standard 7-3/4" x 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" (counting the feet bumps on the bottom).
