Put it on after about 8 months the it curve in to the window causing it to jam in the window when roll the window up. Maybe because the sun too how make the plastics curve inward to the door window. When roll up the window it hit the wind visor. It make if the cheap plastics. Not stay in shape after long period of time in the sun.

I wanted a variable speed controller for my solar powered fan in a chicken coop because the fan at full power was too loud. Adding this controller enabled me to bring the fan speed and noise down singificantly. It has worked without any problems now for a few weeks.

I am an electronics tech. I modulated the input voltage of 115VAC to 87 volts then passed it to a DC choke, then onto a Rectifier. Output was 85volts DC which was passed through an AC choke to clean up the DC. I connected this as power in- to this unit making sure the positive of the SCR was connected to the positive of this unit. I then connected the motor to the unit ensuring correct polarity. I turned on the Controller with it set at 0% or output 0. As soon as I started to move the potentiometer the Capacitor blew. The fuse is fine, so something was not wired correctly internally of this unit. I was more than prepared to give this unit a good review considering some of the questions posed as most do not realize you cannot feed house voltage into the unit and that is probably why there's did not work. I used 87volts DC as power, polarity was correct and it still blew the capacitor without blowing the fuse?

The speed controller is working well for my purpose. For the price, it is a great value.

This thing is junk. Bought to power a treadmill motor as it's meant to be able to take 15 amps. First test blew the fuse, which turns out to be only 5. The best I had on hand was a 9 amp to replace it with, and when I tried that it blew a capacitor. The internals are junk, the wires are so thin that some of them melted the insulation off in the second test which lasted a fraction of a second. Don't waste your money, buy an SCR controller and wire in a bridge rectifier for DC, it takes about as long as throwing this piece of junk in the trash.
