This fan is perfect- the light is bright and the fan has a very low noise level. My electrician had no issues installing this fan. The wood tones on the blades is very attractive, as is the whole unit. Glad I got this fan and on sale! It replaced an old fan light combo that had an open light that collected so much dust- this unit is all enclosed so that wont be a problem any longer. You wont regret buying this, and the remote is very handy, with 6 speeds, including wind, and is programable which I havent done yet.

I've broken down this review in two parts. Part 1 is short and sweet, Part 2 is more detailed.••• PART 1 (Short Review) •••This is a beautiful, stylish, ceiling fan that looks great, is well made, quiet and works well. There are no safety certifications (UL/CSA/ETL) with this ceiling fan and like all fans this one has some quirks. I purchased this ceiling fan mainly on price and style. I liked the way it looks and it was on sale. I am very happy with my purchase despite the quirks, I would buy it again at the sale price.••• PART 2 (Detailed review)This is a great looking, well made ceiling fan with a some quirks••• Instructions •••First off the instructions that come with this ceiling fan are abysmal. Luckily I’m an electrician and have installed dozens of ceiling fans so I was able to figure out the assembly. The average DIY’er will have a tough time if they’re never assembled a ceiling fan before.••• Additional Parts will be Needed •••The next thing you need to know about this ceiling fan is that you will need additional parts that are not included with the fan.You will need some flat washers and longer screws for the electrical box in the ceiling. These are not included but necessary. The wire nuts/Marrets that come with this fan are too small for AWG 14 electrical wiring and should not be used. You will have to supply your own marrets so be prepared.••• No Safety Strap & No Safety Certifications •••Despite this ceiling fan being solidly built there are no safety certifications. No UL/CSA or ETL Approvals. Some electricians will not install this ceiling fan without UL or CSA ratings. Most ceiling fans have a safety strap or wire which you anchor to the box in case the fan becomes loose and detached from the electrical box. This Chriari Ceiling fan does not have any safety wire or strap.••• Remote and Controls •••The light on this ceiling fan will power on using the light switch however in order to turn the fan on you MUST use the remote control. Despite what the instructions say there is NO ‘LAST STATE’ Memory with this fan. Only the light ON/OFF Setting is remembered, the fan setting is not. So if the light and fan are both on and running, once you flip the light switch off and turn it on again only the light will come back on the fan will not.Light color temperature changes. To change the light color temperature you turn the power switch on and off and it cycles an rotates between warm white, cool white and daylight white. Sometimes when you turn the light switch on it remembers the last color setting, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s kinda random. The remote has a button which says #7 Simulates a human burglar lamp” This button appears to do nothing but I don’t know what a Simulated human burglar lamp looks like? There is no way to dim the LED Light on this fan, only change the color.••• Down Rod •••The down rod assembly is supposed to be self levelling however it’s not very smooth and can slide in an out of level position. By Lifting and Rotating the Down Rod I was able to eventually get it to sit in an almost level position however it’s not the smoothest gimbal and doesn’t ‘Self Level’ very well.••• Speed Adjustment and Wobble •••This fan has 6 speed adjustments however the differences between them is slight. Despite the 6 speed settings, you really only have 3, high, medium and low. The lowest fan speed it still pretty quick and the fastest fan speed is really fast. It would be great if the gearing of the motor speed was lower with more differentiations between each speed level. At low speed this fan (1-2) this fan is stable. At Speeds 3-4 it begins to wobble and at speeds 5-6 it really wobbles and the fan blades move a lot back and forth shaking. The fan mount itself is solid and the wobble occurs despite the fan being almost level.I think the wobble in the fan is due to the balancing of the wooden blades. While the List of Quirks is many this ceiling fan does have many excellent qualities too including••• Price •••I purchased this ceiling fan on sale for $254.16 which is a good deal. Home Depot does have a similar ceiling fan which regularly sells for $279 however they were out of stock at the time I purchased. The home depot fan is UL Listed however it does have its own set of quirks. As far as price goes this fan is easily worth the $254 Price. At the regular price of $299 there are more options to consider.••• Style •••This Chriari ceiling fan does look fantastic. It’s beautiful and the wooden airplane propeller style blades look very warm, modern and stylish. This is a definite step up from your basic ceiling fan••• Performance •••Despite having only three (3) blades this fan moves a lot of air and easily competes with 4 and 5 blade fans••• Noise Level •••At low speeds this is one of the quietest ceiling fans in our home. It’s almost silent at low speed. I’ve only had this fan for a short period of time so the noise level may change over time. If it does I will update my review accordingly … for now I’m very impressed with the noise level of this fan.••• Easy Forward & Reverse •••Some ceiling fans are difficult to switch between forward and reverse but this ones easy. The forward and reverse button is right on the remote control.••• Recommendation •••I researched a lot of ceiling fans before buying this Chriari Ceiling Fan. All the ceiling fans I looked at seem to have some good things and some quirks. The price also seems to range between $250-$1000 for these 3 wooden blade style fans. Overall I’m glad I bought this Chriari ceiling fan, especially at the sale price. Despite the various quirks, I’m happy with my purchase and would buy it again at the sale price. I would recommend this ceiling fan.
