My sister and I purchased this item because we have to use a humidifier, which leases a white powder on everything. Using distilled water eliminates this problem. This distiller was limited to occasional use. However, after a certain period of use at least a third of the water was leaking from the distiller. It appears that the heat has warped the edges of the top of the distiller which allows steam to escape and leak to the outside and run down the exterior. It is uselessand cannot be repaired. I give it one star because it worked well for a short time.

Great unit! I've made maybe 100 gallons so far and it's still working like a champ. Has easily paid for itself. Followed advice of another buyer. Run for about 3.5 hours so that there's a small volume of water left. Makes it easier to clean. I bought a mechanical timer for about $10, and it works great. For cleaning, different from the directions, I fill it almost to the top (getting all the deposits) and use 4 tbsp of citric acid. I bought a squirt bottle for keeping the very top free of deposits (works great). We use filtered water so that the deposits are not too bad. Agree with many other buyers - directions are lousy but it's not hard to figure things out.

I’ve only used this distiller a few times, but so far, it works well and has been worth the investment!Pros:The machine does its job well and consistently produces good-quality distilled water. I’ve been using it for my plants and humidifier, and it’s been perfect for that.It’s not completely silent, but the noise is just a fan sound, so it doesn’t bother me much.The cost savings compared to constantly buying distilled water make this totally worth it.Cons:It’s a bit large for a countertop, so if you’re short on space, it might not be the best fit.The distillation process takes 3-4 hours to fill the included jug, which is longer than I expected.The instructions are not helpful at all. I had to look up a YouTube video to figure out how to use it, so if you’re not familiar with water distillers, be prepared to do some extra research.Overall, if you regularly need distilled water, this is a great way to save money and avoid constant trips to the store. It does have a few minor drawbacks, like the size and the learning curve, but I think it’s still a solid product and a great choice for plant parents & humidifier users!

This works well. I'm pleased with it. Seems durable and is very easy to use. The carbon filter is the most difficult part, if you choose to use it. Not too loud and warms and humidifies the room it's operating in. Takes about 3.5 to 4 hours depending on whether or not you allow it to finish the cycle, and dry the sediment to the bottom, making it harder to clean between uses. Carbon filter your tap water first, for less sediment, especially if you've got hard water (lots of minerals) in it, for less clean up. I use citric acid powder or white vinegar to clean and rinse well with clean water and a dedicated sponge, and dry with a paper towel. I'm happy with my purchase, and the price was great!

The device works . Cristal clear water. I needed it for making my own formulations for skin care, and I was tired of boiling my water for drinking. This device isn't too noisy, but it takes alot of space it's big you may want to leave it on top of your fridge. An attractive pamphlet with a lack of information, and useless details. The device does take 4 hours to run for 4 liters of water. You can see the residue at the bottom of the tank, and you just wipe it off and you don't wash the tank with detergent. Thankfully it comes with 4 extra carbon bags for filtering the water. The fan gives off so much hot air that you can actually heat up a room. Reasonable price for such a big device. I'm happy with it.
