Lo instale en mi Nikon d850 y con una bateria generica también, lo reconocio sin problema. Funcionando correctamente y a una fraccion del costo. Llego a tiempo y bien empacado. El agarre se siente seguro y con una consistencia adecuada. Se fija bien a la camara. Se puede utilizar de manera horizontal o vertical ya que tiene los botones y el joystick para ello.

This is the second off branded grip I have bought for my nikon cameras. Never had an issue with fit or function. Cameras have no idea it is not a nikon product. For the significant savings over name brand, no brainer for me.

Full disclosure: I have only used the Vivitar MB-D18 Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip and have not tested the Nikon MB-D18 Multi Power Battery Pack (or any other) on my Nikon D850 so I go into this review with the assumption that the Nikon Battery Grip is fully compatible with the D850. Read the reviews for the Nikon Grip before you make a decision on which Battery Grip to purchase.Review:I purchased the Vivitar MB-D18 Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip anticipating my purchase of the Nikon D850 a month later. I was pretty excited as I really looked forward to using my new photo equipment.I had no problems initially using the Vivitar Battery Grip for my Nikon D850 but then I started noticing problems during an early photoshoot and I thought at first that the problems were with my expensive camera (Yikes!!) but after doing some testing I realized that the problems stemmed from the Vivitar Battery Grip.Problems: These are failures I experienced at critical moments and either missed shots or almost missed them.1. Camera Fails if the battery in the grip dies: I was shooting and used up the battery in the battery grip. All of a sudden when I tried to shoot another photo the camera came up with an, "Err", error message. Of course I freaked out because 1) I was about to miss a shot and 2) I thought there was something wrong with my new, expensive D850. After I calmed down I recycled power on the camera (turned off the camera and turned it back on). Everything seemed to work till I tried to snap a photo and I got the "Err" message again. After a moment it occurred to me to remove the battery grip to isolate the camera. Success! I realized that the battery in the Battery Grip was drained which made sense as I noted it was at about 15% when I last checked.I also experienced the same kind of failure in reverse. In the Nikon D850 you can choose which drains first: The battery in the grip or the battery in the camera body. I figured if I switch to the camera body that it would solve the problem. Nope! When the battery drained in the camera body I still received the "Err" message. For a normal Nikon grip that I've used on my previous camera bodies it wouldn't be a problem since the battery in the camera body would just take over the load seamlessly once the grip was exhausted and vice versa.2. Cannot Handle Rapid or Burst shots: I was doing some rapid fire shots on the D850 when all of a sudden, "Err" message pops up. (Arrrgh!) Remembering my previous problem I removed the Battery Grip, recycled the camera's power and everything was fine. This grip doesn't seem able to handle rapid power transfer to the camera when higher power consumption is required.3. Cannot Handle Larger Lenses Over Time: I was using my Sigma 150-600mm lens to do some birding photography (great lens to get close up at a distance). I snapped some photos with the Sigma lens and right as I was about to get a beauty shot of a great egret, "Err" (Noooo! #@%!) I immediately unscrewed the Grip, recycled the camera and pocketed the Battery Grip. Success! Unfortunately I had to shoot the remainder of the shoot sans the Battery Grip and without it's very convenient shutter-release button (that button is soooo helpful when shooting in a portrait orientation). Very painful when turning the camera 90 degrees while using a 4 lb lens that's ~14" in length! (I was shooting by hand and not on a tri or monopod)Pros:1. Cost - Clearly paying roughly $60 for the Vivitar Grip beats paying almost $400 for the Nikon Grip (ridiculously priced). Nikon used to me more reasonable when pricing battery grips.2. Limited Functionality - Under non-taxing power requirements this Vivitar Battery Grip works fine.3. Shutter-Release - Having the S-R button on the grip is perfect when holding the camera in portrait orientation.Cons:1. Unreliable if Battery is Low - If you have a low or drained battery situation in either the Vivitar Battery Grip or in the camera you will receive an "Err" message and be unable to shoot.2. Unreliable for High Power Demands - If you are using your camera in burst or high-speed mode or if you have big lenses with stabilization and/or accessories (GPS, Flash, etc.) drawing power from the camera, you may get unexpected camera power failures due to this Vivitar Battery Grip. Conclusion:I have been able to get good usage out of the Vivitar MB-D18 Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip on my Nikon D850 about 90%-95% of the time however it's tough when you are taking a photo at a critical, fleeting moment and your camera fails. The last thing you want is, "Err" to pop up on your camera. If you need 100% reliability (Wedding photographers, Professional Wildlife photographers, Sports photographers, etc.) then I would NOT recommend this Vivitar Battery Grip for you.You Make the Call:If you keep in mind the limitations of this Vivitar Battery Grip when planning your next photo shoot (being mindful if your shoot requires rapid bursts, large lenses (especially using auto focus & vertical/optical stabilization) and ensuring you have fully charged batteries in both your camera body and Vivitar Battery Grip (also carry fully charged spare batteries)) then you can manage the Vivitar's limitations and enjoy your shoot knowing that you saved over $300. That said, if you can easily afford the Nikon Battery Grip then get it and forget your worries (if my initial assumptions at the beginning of this review are correct). Either way you have to choose what works best for your situation.

No need to spend 300+ bucks on the real grip. Since my D90 days I have always used the vivitar grips and have never been disappointed!
