I'd been looking for a new snorkel as the on I,ve had for many year always leaked. My reason for even want ing to us one is that 10 years ago I had a neck operation that, although successful, has resulted in limited mobility so that when I swim laps I am only able not able to turn my head enough to get air without also taking in some water. I tried one other snorkel mask Amazon sells but it was way too tight and I had to return it. I just got this one last night and after adjusting the head strap tried it out to make sure it didn't leak. It worked perfectly and, although I had to be sure to hold my head high enough so the float ball in the end of the snorkel didn't cut of my air, once I made that adjustment and, with this mask, was able to breathe through my nose, I was able to do 40 laps in our 38 ft long pool in much less than half the time it was taking me before I got this mask and snorkel. I'm 78 and have some medical issues including diabetes and osteo arthritis, the latter causing hips, lower back and legs to hurt if I do much walking. Doctors are always telling me to exercise more and lately I've learned that swimming laps allows me to exercise without paying for it in pain. I've gotten to love doing my laps and always feel much better when I do. After today, I now know that I can do more in less time than I had and feel pretty certain that all this will make feeling good my normal state. This thing is a God send.

Works great, doesn't leak water in use, and the snorkel feature works just like a regular snorkel. What more could you ask for?

(Note: I am not at all a seasoned snorkeler - just the opposite. Consider my inexperience when reading the review :))The mask is super-water-tight. Test it by turning your face down, holding the mask on your face, breathing in sharply through your nose, and removing your hand. I had no problem with it staying put - I didn't even know my nose could suck that hard! :) It was a little challenging to get on with my hair down, as the rubber straps pulled my hair, but I should have had my hair up anyway. It takes a little getting used to breathing through your nose. I found myself wondering how it would be to use this mask and also a snorkel/mouthpiece, so you could breathe either way. I don't think there would be an easy place to attach it, though. All in all, the mask served its purpose.

When I first tried this snorkel doing laps I thought it would not work for me and went back to my usual diver’s snorkel. I gave it another try after a few more laps and within a few minutes not only was I able to have an easier swim without the large mouthpiece, my swimming became more relaxed, normal in breathing and easy. Give it a while to get used to if you use a traditional snorkel when swimming laps. Those of us who have difficulty with breathing swimming and use snorkels for long swims will find this mask an improvement. I have hesitated trying the new full face mask because of a risk of breathing high level of CO2. With this, I can breathe easily through my nose and out through my nose for a period of time, and then can alternate with breathing out through my mouth to clear the mask. I have never had any sense of breathing a high level of CO2 at all. I just do this periodic clearing as a precaution. I love this new mask for my hour long swims several times a week. It stays clear, does not leak and makes my swims feel natural and pleasant.
