The photos of this lamp on the Amazon site make it look bigger than it is. I thought it would be the size of a hurricane lamp. An inventive, smart, contemporary re-design of an old-fashioned lamp. And it is all that. It’s quite striking in fact. Very streamlined and polished. Well-made, too. It switches between its three light modes very easily, and in a very smooth way.But the lamp is small. It’s 8”x5.” Which is about half the size I expected. Also, it’s bright. As in a bit intense and glaring, at least for me. I set it outside where my husband has his man-cave and he loved it. But I found myself squinting when I looked at it. The acrylic cylinder at the center of the lamp magnifies the light from the bottom of the cylinder quite a lot. Lamps normally have shades to diffuse their light. This little, stylish and handsome lamp has no shade, and it’s quite bright. Also, I found that despite its brightness, the lamp didn’t much illuminate its surroundings.Very attractive, but odd.

You will not believe the quality of this lamp! It is heavy/sturdy, easy to charge and easy to use. I plan on buying a second one in gold for my mid-century modern dining room. Really impressive little lamp! I might even buy one in silver for my kitchen table! Like, actually going to do that. This lamp is really cool!
