As other reviewers have said - if you see a great deal, you may be getting the older version of this heating tool with a different colorway/design. That is what I received, and I'm perfectly fine with it. Otherwise, it appears identical.It's designed to be used for paper crafting - scrapbooking, card making, etc, and the heat is more intense then hair dryers. The plastic shield helps prevent you from directly touching the metal tip, reducing your chance of burning yourself, but you must still be careful - it gets hot!I recommend getting a smooth silicone mat to protect your work surface when using the gun. Most people pick up their paper while embossing to prevent heat being applied to their desk. There are also craft tongs with silicone tips that keep your hand away while you're using the heat tool.

Es una pistola que no vas a usar demasiado tiempo o puede derretirse elPlástico que tiene encima de la boquilla es para cosas chiquitas y rápidas

I selected this heat gun because of the beautiful gold detail. It looked prettier than most heat guns. However, Like some of the others, I did not receive the same heat gun as pictured. It is white and has WE R logo in blue. Im not sure how it works. I imagine for the price it works as well as any others, but disappointed in not receiving the same product as pictured so I will be returning it.

Love this heat tool. I honestly bought it because it's aesthetically pleasing to have out on my desk and because I recognize the brand. Great quality too, I'd say it's worth spending about $10 more than the average ugly, clunky-looking, unknown brand heat tools here on Amazon.
