These are really cute but I recently learned that not all silicone is food safe. Some silicone leeches out chemicals that can cause health problems. Medical grade silicone is the only kind that doesn’t.

These worked really well for making DIY hard lotion bars. The star shapes were well formed. I did have to pop each cavity inside out to get the stars out but it was easy to do.

I bought two sets of these star shaped ice trays to make champagne jello shots for a party, and they are amazing! Each star is about 1 inch deep and 1.5 inches across and holds just under 1oz of liquid. To make champagne jello, I used the small boxes of jello that call for 1 cup hot water and 1 cup cold water. I used 2/3 cup hot water and 2/3 cup champagne to make the jello more dense and stronger. Raspberry and peach go best with champagne. Citrus like lemon and lime are weird and sugar free stuff is also gross. Using this recipe, I get 60 jello shots from 1 bottle of champagne and 2 small boxes of jello. You would have to buy two of these 3 - pack stars to do that. To get the stars out, set the tray down in very hot water in a 8 x 6.5 inch tupperware container. It takes 5 to 15 seconds to melt the jello a little bit on the edges. Then plop the tray upside down on a cutting board and the stars will fall out. Use a flat metal spatula to transfer the stars into small condiment cups and you have awesome jello shots!Warning: These trays still smell like jello after I washed them! This means you should not store them in the freezer. Over time, they will absorb freezer smells from things like meat and fish sticks and your ice will be disgusting. If you use them for ice, use them only for ice. If you use them for jello, don't make ice later. And don't store them in the freezer!

Works great! Easy to push the ice cubes out. We used this to make coffee ice cubes in a baileys, vodka, and half and half drink and it worked perfectly. We like the star shape because it can easily be used year round for a variety of drinks.
