The hard drive arrived defective. Amazon shipped it in the original Western Digital black box. I bought the 10 TB WD-Black drive, but the drive never spun up. When I checked Windows Disk Manager, it prompted me to initialize the drive, but attempting to do so resulted in an I/O error. I also tried using an external enclosure, but the drive remained unresponsive—the PC didn’t detect it, and it still wouldn’t spin up.To make matters worse, Western Digital’s support has been extremely slow. It has now been 12 days, and they still haven’t provided a replacement. Meanwhile, the exact same 10 TB WD-Black drive is available for purchase on Amazon from their official Western Digital store.P.S. Amazon’s support was helpful throughout the process.

I've bought quite a few WD Black drives over the last several years & maybe I've been lucky, but they've all been genuine retail drives and had Warranties when I've check on WD's website. This 10TB drive is no exception, I checked WD's website as soon as it arrived and it shows a warranty until 9th Jan 2030.I have 6 of these of various sizes, between 4TB and 10TB and none of these have had any issues so far, they're mostly North of 30,000 hours now.

To be honest I read lots of negative comments about this hard drive that it makes loud noise and isn’t reliable , but all are wrong .I receive it in good condition and it works fine without noise but it need’s to initialize the hard disk first and make it online on disk management after that you format it and it’s ready .
