Just got it today, off the bat the lashing is inadequate and started flaking fibers off in my hands.The design is bewildering, thought maybe the same piece of lashing on the bottom of the cup would come away in two directions so to rest under the cheeks. NOPE!Really this is just a fortified G-String.Compared to my old cup it is noticeable smaller, and the old cup was already snug enough to border on uncomfortable.Also the pitch of the cup is higher up towards the abdominal... see pics of cups to see what I mean.The side pics show that the old cup completely eclipse the new one, and from the other side the old cup is visible behind the new one.The inside is straight metal with chrome metallic paint, no fabric.I could feel the cold with my hands inside the cup.Can't recommend.

Tough metal, I got Large and it was a good fit, I got it for the kink-vibes so can't speak for athletic usage.

Awesome quality. The comfort was good,the sizes run slightly smaller than expected. The blue dye bled, that was the only con.

I bought this for my husband because he needed a real Thai cup, instead of a plastic one that could shatter in a fight. He loves it!He's 6'0 and 150, so not a huge guy, but I went with a large for "below the belt" reasons. That was a good call. It's a perfect fit. It took some practice tying it, but now he's got it. Another guy at his gym has one and he wears on over his compression shorts, but I'm not sure what kind of straps he has. My husband ties it around his waist and up the back, going under his compression shorts.His only complaint is that the straps were dyed a little blue from the leather, but that mostly came out with washing, and that it can get VERY cold in the winter time before putting it on haha

If you have never worn a traditional Thai boxing cup, it may take some practice to tie it on confidently. Also, some underpants will feel better than others. That said, it will make you feel invincible. There is simply nothing else like it. Most fighters I know who use this sort of cup have modified theirs with leg straps or sewn it into a jock-strap. So far I like the single strap up the back simply because it keeps the cup centered, low and snug without much tension. This type of cup is naturally bulky compared to some modern designs. But my only real complaint is that the leather covering bleeds blue dye onto my underpants.
