Needed a spring compressor to work on a motorcycle rear spring. Worked great. Good quality. Seems heavy duty.

I love these! Wayyy easier to use than one you rent from a parts house! I rented a set, it took a LONG time to get my coil spring to compress and when I finally installed the upper mount, there wasn't enough space between the coils to remove it! I saw and purchased these because I saw the jaws were slim enough to fit.I was finally able to remove the crappy parts house rented ones; I used these on the other side from the start-man, they were soo easy to compress and install the upper mount. What took me the better part of a WHOLE DAY messing with loaner tools, I was able to do in minutes!

These are very heavy duty, and they worked great for compressing springs on a couple different motorcycle shocks; an '03 1200 Suzuki Bandit and a '07 Hayabusa. These springs have very little room between the coils for clamps to get into, but this tool did the job. I wrapped the contact points on the springs with electrical tape, and they didn't cause any marring of the finish on new springs.They are a little ungainly to work with if you don't have anything holding the shock itself, it's helpful to have two people to get them into place and hold them there until there is tension on the spring. There isn't much distance between the body of the tool and the clamps either, you have to be mindful the tool doesn't rub your shock/spring.With care and patience they work great, they easily stand up to the spring load and the fine thread of the adjusters makes it easy to turn them in small increments. I don't foresee ever needing any other spring compressor tool again.
