My 6yo and 8yo love playing with this toy. It looks really great in sunlight. The harder you flick, the more the tinsel stays out. My kids almost always get the sound effects to work, but I seem to be about 60%.... Perhaps I'm just a muggle!It's simple, it's relatively cheap, it's fun. Hope they make more designs and colors in the future.

The wand arrives ready to use, but in my opinion at least, doesn't do much of anything. The sparkle end only stays out for a second, I couldn't even get a good look at it. It's very picky about how you wave it in order to get it to make a noise, and the noises were unintelligible, as far as I could tell. I'm a pretty big Harry Potter fan myself, I think I would have recognized any of these noises if they were true to the story, but I didn't.On the plus size, it looks and feels like a Harry Potter wand, so it'd be good for a Halloween costume.

This wand has been absolutely magical for one of my children, who uses it in all of her Hogwarts games with her siblings. It makes fun noises has a good weight to it without being too light or heavy, and seems very sturdy for a wand toy. Batteries are easily replaced, and the "sparkle" function should last just about forever with proper care, as it is simply tinsel attached within the wand. I recommend!

We are fans of Harry Potter and when I saw this wand I wanted to order for a future visit we are planning to Universal. I did not look closely at the listing but this is geared toward smaller kids as the wand is plastic and has sounds. There is also a sparkle effect which is silver foil that comes out of the tip of the wand when you swing it forward. This is great for the littles but for bigger kids or those young at heart I would look for a wand geared more towards adults. Overall cute Harry Potter wand for the kiddos.
