As the title says, I used this on my ebike battery build. I mostly use it simply as an on/off switch for the battery terminals, but it doesn't hurt to have the added safety of the breaker. In my situation, the BMS on the battery should trip before this breaker, so this just serves as a backup.

Installed this in a new camper solar setup with this being between the Victron MPPT solar controller and the battery busses bar. There are 600 watts of solar panels so theoretically between them and my Victron model it could put out 50 amps at 12 volts but I have LiFePh batteries so the voltage would be higher and amps lower and you never get the full solar panel wattage output in northern USA.Went on a three week camping trip and took advantage of the solar recharging. About a week after getting home I noticed the batteries are drained to 22% and so I looked back on the MPPT controller and it has not been changing for 2 & 1/2 days. I tracked it down to this circuit breaker, it had tripped and could not be reset because the reset lever was not movable. I cut it open to see what failed and the right side coming from the MPPT controller had melted. The bi-metallic strip had curled up then the reset lever sprung into place but when the plastic cooled the reset lever was now welded in place.I went back through the MPPT controllers history and on its most productive day it was passing only 33 amp, well below the rates 50 amps. I cannot have this happening when on vacation so I went with a Bussman Blue Sea 285 series 50 amp breaker as replacement. 4x the cost but worth the reliability. The cable that was feeding the melted side is 6 awg and it’s only 12” long so the cable is perfectly rated for that amperage.When I was getting ready to install copper wire lugs on the wires that were connected to this circuit breaker so they could be attached to the new circuit breaker I noticed a discoloration of the copper wire like they had gotten really hot. The copper wire in this circuit breaker is held in place with an set screw. I think that is a poor fastening method for such a high current.

This has a serious flaw when using stranded wire, it's almost like it's designed for solid wire only. The set screw that tightens the wire has no pate so for stranded wire it just separates the wires. I had to tin the wire with solder for it to work.

Fitted well without being super bulky. Won't stay attached to magnetic. Mount. Scree cover scratches fairly easily. (No replacement I can find)
