I love this item!!! It has plenty of give and is thick enough to make felting a breeze. So far, no accidents with my fingers!!! Nicely sized to hold a picture and not have to move it all around to have a flat working surface.

Se le quedan pegados los pelitos a las piezas que uno va trabajando y sin son blancas pues se quedan prendidas fibras del color de cojín

I was concerned that this mat might "hang on" to my felting too much and get full of tufts of all the colours I was using. But it doesn't! Yes, you have to gently lever your work off, as you do with any other felting surface - but this one is the best I have used. My rice-filled hessian bag seemed better than the foam, when I first got it, but this is now by far my most favourite felting surface. Very comfortable to use and the perfect size. The first thing I made on it was this Guinea pig!

Love this mat. Lost a star for the fact that it went up £3 overnight in my basket as it was £18 and went uo to £21 for the xl one.Desperately needed a new felting mat though as I'm fed up of my foam ones leaving residue on projects, so i bought it anyway.The size and thickness are good, and although i can see that people who stab projects hard could end up felting their project to the mat, i dont have this problem. I move the piece about anyway but also dont keep stabbing right through my work.The more i use it the better and more felted it gets. Only downside that when on my lap it is itchy. I even itch through my trousers 😬 easily remedied by having a blanket underneath it however, or by using it on a table. I don't find that it slips all over the place as sone people have said, but maybe it is because i bought the biggest size. Overall i'd say that its great quality and i'm glad that i got the largest size as its just slightly bigger than my foam mat. I wouldn't have wanted anything smaller.

I am a beginning felter and I tend to learn by trial and error rather than viewing online tutorials as I should. I purchased the brush type felting pad, a foam one and the Wool Buddy. I hated the brush type immediately, it seemed wobbly and insecure. The foam type was OK but I didn't like the feel or sound of the needle going in and I knew it couldn't last long. Then I tried the Wool Buddy, XL size. I loved the size, the thickness and the feel of it. It felt secure, it felt steady and no matter how much I punched there were no holes or wear that I could see. My only problem was MY OWN FAULT!. I was making a felted leaf, first time I tried it. Of course, a leaf is a flat piece. I needled away and loved the result. Went to pull up the leaf and it was FIRMLY attached to the Wool Buddy. I ruined one side of the WB pulling and scraping the leaf out of it. I didn't want to give up on the WB because I loved everything else about it. So... I did what I should have, watched a few tutorials and got some good tips and realized I was a felting idiot but one with hope. I started again on the remaining good side of the WB. I cut some squares of tulle netting a little larger than the size of the leaf I wanted to make. I put one piece of tulle on the WB, laid out my wool fibers and put another piece of tulle on top, a felting sandwich of sorts. I started needling but every minute or so, I pulled the leaf all the way off the WB and flipped it over. If the tulle got too many holes, I replaced it. The tulle and the frequent flipping worked like a charm. The leaf pulled away perfectly from both the tulle and the WB leaf. Use the WB right and you will love it! All I have to do now is avoid the ugly side I ruined!
