Leider zu spät entdeckt... Das sind keine echten P90 (beziehungsweise P94), sondern stinknormal gewickelte Single Coils in P90 Optik. Schade :(

sounds awesome. i put one of these in the neck and a saphue metal blade pickup in the bridge of an inexpensive guitar and they both sound different but it actually works well together for an inexpensive guitar. the guitar was a donner dmt that plays and feels good too. but these pickups are awesome. i doubt theyre as good as real p90s but as far as humbucker p90s, solid sound for an amazing price.

They sound hooligan - the Kent Armstrongs on the other guitar are great too but cost £140 whilst both sets of black pearls were £50....

For the crazy low price, I thought I’d hear how these sound. I totally understand that you cannot replicate true P90 design in a humbucker size and that these pickups aren’t even a good attempt. However, they get you close, sound wise. I would describe them as something between a humbucker and single coil. Less output and brighter than a humbucker, but not as smooth as a hot single coil. They sound a bit like an overwound single coil with a sore throat. I think that’s close to what P90s sound like. Oh, they’re very quiet too. No excess buzz or hum. Build quality is only ok. Lots of sharp edges and kind of cheap looking. Since the resistance and pole spacing is identical on both pickups, and no documentation is included, I guessed on which is neck vs bridge. I’d give them maybe 3 stars for fit and finish, but 5 stars for sound, hence I averaged to 4 stars. It’s a low cost, no risk, investment if you want to experiment with a different sound from your guitar.EDIT: After tinkering with these pickups for a while I figured out what they sound most like - a humbucker in coil split mode. I also had a chance to compare to real P90s, albeit not in the same guitar. The real P90s have a much richer sound with more bass. While these pickups are something a little different, I ultimately decided to not use them. They’re just not unique enough compared to real single coils and humbuckers.
