Great for reducing vibrarions and other “pops” when recording. A must have to get close to the microphone.

It's a pop-filter. There isn't really much to say. I will say the quality packaging gave me confidence in its overall quality. It had a chemically smell initially when opening, but every piece of sound treatment I've ever bought has had a smell for a little bit. It's a good price, it feels form-fitting, and it performs as you'd expect.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this item without some reservations. I want to be clear about why.First, in several pictures within the ad, the Shure version is shown. You can tell by the plastic ring, and see it on the mic. The YOUSHARES version is flatpacked, and does not have the retainer ring (that snaps into the mic body. In the ad, all photographs show a beveled edge on the windscreen, just as the name brand item from Shure carries. The item shipped is not molded in that specific shape, nor does it have any sort of bevel. See photos. Even when you stretch it onto the mic, it's simply not the same thing pictured in the ad.I knew that this item didn't have the ring when I ordered it. But in the couple of photos that DO purport to show this particular item, it is shown with the same "bevel" as the original. The item shipped does not have that, and it is shaped slightly differently.I could live with that, but unfortunately, this foam is a different density than the factory item, and these windscreens have a specific "pop absorption" performance on the mic. There are even two models of factory windscreens meant to be used in different situations. This screen is too dense to match the factory version's performance, and passes too little air. Consequently, the "pops" are louder because the material is thicker and less air gets through. But the item is about $6 less than the "real thing," and there may be someone out there who won't be using the mic in as critical a situation as I use it. This might work out in their case and be a decent bargain. Unfortunately for me, it won't work. But it was worth a shot. I will still give it what I consider an average rating of three stars. It's just not comparable to the real thing, so I'll have to order a Shure version and chalk this up to a lesson learned.

If you want to put it on your desk don't even buy this, all it does is go straight up vertical, no matter how you bend it, it always wants to stay vertical.
