These also get pretty stabby in the heel region, especially with pointed toes - you know - like you might be expected to do in dance or gymnastics. That heel comes up WAY WAY too high for that sort of use. I've never done any cheer type activities, so I don't know if that would impede movement in that arena, but again, the heel comes up SUPER high and isn't exactly comfortable even walking around.I wear a 6-6.5 in ladies' shoes (36-37EU), and these are also WAAAAAY long on me. The width is about right, so I'd say they run a bit narrow (as in if they were the right length, they'd likely be a bit narrower than I'd like). They are also not nearly as flexible as they appear. They're NOT split sole, which you can tell if you look very closely. I thought that the sole in the middle would have been thin enough to function like split soles, but not really. I can't really evaluate this as completely as I'd like because of the heel stabbing issue, but what I was able to evaluate did not flex like I think dance or gymnastic shoes should (and certainly not like my others). In fact, I've got Nikes with the flex soles that are much, much more comfortable and flexible than these allegedly specially designed shoes.

I got these for my sister who just started out in cheerleading and she loves them. She says they are so comfy, work great, and go great with her all back cheer outfits
