This reel is smooth and has had no problems bringing in red fish, snook, snapper! It’s nice and light reducing hand/wrist fatigue. Love it!

The spool is junk but the reel is pretty good and smooth going to test if it is saltwater proof like it’s said

Lo veo muy sencillo ,a ver si dura ,ya tengo uno de esta marca pero se ve y se siente muy de plástica

This reel runs line like a dream, as it should with 10 ball bearings. I am not sure what swayed me to try this reel. I have been thrilled with my existing reels and had not reason to change. I am glad I did. I think this is as a good value. I love almost everything about it. My only complaint is the handle, and that is an inconvenience at most. I like collapsible handles on my reels for ease of storage and transport in tight spaces. The handle on the Quantum does not fold. The only way to save space is to remove it completely and risk misplacing or losing it. While minor, that can be a big deal for me when maximizing usable space on a trip. I figure some financial analyst probably saved 25 cents per reel in manufacturing cost going with a fixed crank handle over a folding handle.

This Quantum reel is very nice. I have fished for about 30 years using all sorts of spinning and baitcasting reels. This 30/3000 size reel is compact for it's class size. The frame is very rigid. The drag is very smooth; I believe it is carbon fiber. I did add a drop of synthetic oil to the (easy-to-access) bearings for slightly improved performance. I have fished this already and like the smoothness of the retrieve and the bail functions very well. Fifteen pound braid is on the reel and I like that over monofilament. I think if you spend $20 or $30 more on a reel, it could be a little better but it won't catch more fish. Also this reel comes with a 5-year warranty -hard to beat that! The baitcasting Throttle is not as smooth as this Throttle spinning reel is.
