All plastic (except the shaving blade that is good steel) made me think it was going to be just a toy for kids. But after using it to help made shaved ice, this thing really works. Great for making snocones and old fashioned shaved ice. Added benefit, it's easy to bread down and reassemble, so pacing it away in a small space is easy. Just keep the box nearby because you're going to use this baby over and over.

It works great! There is a bit of a smell from the motor showing it heats up very quickly.

This is a great gadget to cure those summer time woes when the weather gets too hot outside. It makes great shaved ice for sno cones. The unit comes in a few separate pieces that are not hard to put together, and there are a few safety features in place to guarantee a safe, clean operation. Once the unit is turned on, it does make some noise, but it is not as loud as a blender. It can output quite a bit of shaved ice at a time, but running the unit for longer than 5 minutes is not recommended without a cool down process in between. You may be thinking that this would be great for frozen margaritas, but honestly, a blender would be a lot easier and yield better results. This would work, but it would be more of a hassle. Overall, this is a great little unit for the kids and I'm looking forward to using it more next summer!

As someone who loves snow cones and desserts like halo-halo throughout the year, I had to give this product a try. So far, it has done a great job at shaving ice into small pieces and does so pretty efficiently. Sometimes it can get loud, but that is to be expected when using this sort of device. Overall, it has been a hit at parties and gatherings and I am so glad to have this staple in my house. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone who would love to have a sweet cold treat at home.

I didn't open it but everything looks good it's a christmas gift .
