The navigation is straightforward, which is cool. The dimensions are of standard mic size; it's great to be able to listen with a headset while talking. However, the cons outweigh the pros for stand-up interviews(for me). The sock provided has to be over the mic at all times as the sensitivity is too much, and you could hear the pop sound very harsh, even at low volume. The other issue is the craftsmanship; if you drop this the mic it will break in parts. As it's not constructed with materials used in their other products. I will be returning this; it's not worth $200 plus tax. Update:, while on the go, I noticed that the letters have been removed more and more likely from the oil on your hands.

Zoom have been making excellent recording devices for decades and this new product is just as great all the previous one have been. Slip it into a mic stand, place it in an appropriate location to record something and hit the button. Couldn't be easier! The sound quality of the recording is excellent due to the great microphones on the unit and the 32-bit float resolution. Having the "normalization" ability built right into the recorder is a big step forward, especially for amateur musicians who have no clue that they should be normalizing all their recordings!While nowhere as versatile as Zoom's more expensive recorders, this also is nowhere near as complex, so for simple "press record and you're all set" recording situations, this is ideal.

I own several Zoom recorders but I’m finding the M2 is really all I need. Slide the on and off switch to on and press record. Within seconds you are recording, and the rest is automatic. It’s easy to change audio levels during post. I’m really impressed with the fast startup time! Excellent sound quality!

No file export instructions in the Zoom M2 box, just set up instructions and rudimentary operating instructions. Online manual is poorly written and unorganized. No transfer cable was included. Too many buttons to push to accomplish simple tasks. Despite purchasing several USB-C to lightning cables, none worked with my Mac Mini or Mac book Neither did the USB-C to USB cables. Had to remove the USB card to transfer files. And the mic sound? Hollow. Save your money and get a better (and easier to operate) one piece mic/recorder, like the Yellowtek Ixm. This was a waste of $200.
