Shipping was quick and I really like this player! I used to do a lot of audio work in the 80's and 90's so I know what sounds good and I'm picky, so I think I am a fair judge about this. There was only one other Amazon review and it was negative, so I'm glad I ignored it and took a chance. I will give a quick review of my findings so far. Keep in mind I bought this because my CD player failed in my car, so I decided to get this and am plugging it into the aux in on the cars radio. I have a blue tooth receiver as well and I tried it and it seems to work fine, but I want to keep things as simple as possible to use, so am using a cable with 1/8" male plugs on each end. The unit is made of aluminum and is a little heavy I think if you wanted to use it for jogging or exercise, but for using in a car or as a player hooked to a home audio system, it is fine and I actually like the weight as it feels solid like a REAL audio device should imo.So here are my findings.Pros:- Very solid and has 2 gold-plated output jacks, one for (stereo) line-level out and the other for headphones.- The sound quality to me is the big seller. I am playing FLAC files so I really want high-quality sound, and it is truly CD quality. I have not noticed any skipping or anything weird so far.Cons:- The screen is not very bright and the fonts are very small so you need good eyes which I don't have. I need strong reading glasses to see it clearly.- The software interface is a bit odd but not bad but takes time to get used to it (it took me a few hours to figure it out)- There is a rotating wheel on the front but I don't like using it so far but might try it later -- the good thing is that you don't need to use it as you can do everything with the buttons.-The manual is not much help so you will basically need to fiddle around until you figure out what does what, but it's not too difficult if you're used to niggly computer stuff. So that's about it. One thing I MUST mention is that the USB cable that comes with it is special and is NOT a normal cable, so DO NOT lose it! The cable can transfer data as well as charging, but if you use a 'normal' cable, it will only allow charging, so it might even be proprietary. I am running Linux Mint on my desktop computer and it shows up fine on my desktop, so that's a HUGE relief. It says it works with Mac OS's and Windows and I'm sure it does. When you want to play music on the unit, go to the 'folder' icon, then hit enter, and then find the 'music' folder, and THAT is where you store all your music btw in whatever folders you creat in there (on your computer, just to clarify). I found I had to number the songs to put them in the order I want them to play back. so ie, if the song is called Avalon, you would call it: 1 Avalon and so on. I did not put 01 but it might work, i have no idea.So that's my take man. I like it so far and you might like it as well -- I have no idea! Cheers.
