must be very precise with the size and weight of the fabric selected- and it isn’t foolproof. relatively easy to use and somewhat worth considering the price- idk I thought the other negative reviews were because the other people lacked common sense, or it was a skill issue, but truly these things are just cheap and rickety and don’t really stay. They’re fine i guess but tbh will be looking for a better system in the future.

No template included. I suggest cutting your fabric slightly more than double the size of the button. I got ⅝" buttons and cut my circles 1⅜-1½". Also I added a circle the same size as the button (⅝" in my case) so the button wouldn't shine through. (See picture attached) To cover, place your larger circle onto the mold, then the smaller circle, followed by the button. Push into the mold and fold the fabric in. Top with shank piece then place the pusher over the shank. Firmly push (not pound) with a hammer till the two pieces are joined. A finger will work but it does take quite a bit of pressure so a hammer will spare you a sore finger. I also suggest doing this on a rag or towel so your button doesn't go flying if you don't push exactly straight. Learn from my mistake. I looked high and low for an escaped mold, pusher, and button!

No Button size pattern to cut the fabric. This is the first and only DIY Button kit that I purchase, and it doesn't include a button size pattern in the kit. I will return this item.
