I came across this while looking for a easy way to bring a 5V USB-A plug into 24/7 power. My work truck has three 12v Adapters (I use all of them for USB charging -- my phone, my iPad, my driving camera, an inverter for my laptop, a light for the back of the vehicle, and a little strobe for the roof (I don't use all of these at once, but they're all plugged in/switched around form time to time. I recently had my vehicle hit while in a parking lot, which was frustrating, but the Camera did it's job... Almost perfectly. it caught the driver, but it almost didn't catch the tag...The battery on my Camera is set to only engage with impact, and it only records for ~ 30 seconds when that happens. That 30 seconds was almost not enough time to capture what I needed... So I started looking for something to make the Camera run 24/7.I upgraded my memory card, adjusted settings, etc., but couldn't get past the power issue. So I started looking for options. Options weren't aplenty... I could run a dedicated 12v Power Outlet, and use it to power the camera, or I could find another option... Enter the FRCVESNG Car OBD Power Adapter... It gives me the 24/7 5V USB-A port to power my camera all the time. Now, with my camera set to use movement, impact, and recordings, I'm able to do more...This thing is easy to install -- I opened up the cover for my fuse box, plugged it in, and boom! It was ready to go. (I know it is a bit of an exaggeration, but it really was that simple to get it going). After testing things out, confirming I had power, and making sure to adjust my settings, I was ready to test it out for the night. Once I'd confirmed everything did exactly as planned, I began the process of routing the cables out of sight, so that they aren't dangling in my way.Once done, again I tested to make sure it would do the job. Again, it passed with flying colors. Now I'm less concerned about someone hitting my car, and more concerned about someone finding my OBD Power Adapter and stealing it...I've had this in my work truck now for about 2 months and it's been going strong. No issues with my battery not having the strength to start in the morning (it was a concern at first). I'm really impressed with it overall. If you're looking for a dedicated 5v USB-A or just a little USB-C PD, this is your answer.

Trying wire a radar detector into the mirror but could not.Using the OBD2 port to power the radar detector was easier and more convenient with this power adapter. Just plug and play!

This makes it so much easier to add and doesn't create that mess of cables at the cigarette lighter. Install is as easy as it looks and provides the right amount of power to my dash cam. It's really pretty universal and will charge anything usbC, just keep in mind that it won't charge your phone at a fast rate, it really intended for dash cams or similar.
