Roomy and gorgeous. It's perfect for steaming long crab legs and for making long-noodled pasta. It's so good looking that I keep it out on my stovetop. Very easy to clean because I have a double wide farm sink, but I imagine for those with smaller sinks, the size of this baby might be a little too much. But for my needs, this size was perfect!

I like this stock pot very much. it is quite functional. If I could improve it I would make the lid out of glass.

Okay, so this pot is pricey. Very pricey. But I have a few other All-Clad items, and they’re all as good today as they were 15 years ago. Like a good set of tools, cookware like this will last many lifetimes if reasonably cared for.The first thing I noticed is that the lid is not as advertised; at least it doesn’t have that mirror finish as in the product photos. My lid has more of a brushed finish, as if very fine sandpaper was used on it. I tried to capture this in one of my pictures. Also regarding the lid, it’s almost perfectly flat, which makes it important to lift the lid and then tip it to 90° while still over the pot. If you don’t, all that condensed liquid that’s invariably collected on the bottom of the lid will end up on your stove or counter. The lack of any real curve means the liquid doesn’t run back into the pot, like other, more convex lids do.The strainer basket is great for making pasta and soup from whole chicken carcasses. It lets you lift out whatever you’re cooking without having to lift the heavy pot full of water. It sits exactly one inch off the bottom of the pot, so it can also be used as a steamer basket. One of the ways I judged the quality of this pot was the way the strainer fit. The inner basket is a little smaller than it needs to be, so it has to be manipulated and centered to close the gap that appears if it’s too close to one side. But both the pot and the strainer are perfectly round, and a good seal is easily attained. This is the only pot I could find in the All-Clad line that is made from 90% recycled stainless steel. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but I thought I’d mention it. It’s designed in the US, but made in China. There are measurements printed inside, in a tiny black font. They don’t feel etched in, so I’m not sure how long they’re going to last. You’re not supposed to use steel wool or anything abrasive on these pots, but let’s be real, everyone is going to.When it’s all together with the lid and the strainer, the height is just a hair under 12” tall. Measuring across the inside, the diameter of the pot itself is 10 ¾”. The total width of the pot, including handles, is 15 1/8”. The strainer adds 2 ½” to the height of the pot, which alone is 8 ¼ inches.Bottom Line -This is a really nice pot. I took one star because it’s made of recycled stainless steel, is made in China, has a brushed finish to the top, and the strainer basket could fit better. It’s also only one layer of stainless steel, unlike most of the rest of the All-Clad lines (D3 Stainless, D3 Everyday, D5 Stainless, Copper Core, and G5 Graphite Core) which all have 3 to 5 layers.I hope some of this helps.
