Easy to install and feels better than foam. I do wish they offered more colors and cork look a like. Keep your heat gun moving back and forth and cut wrap a 16th to an 8th of an inch long on each end. I have enough left to do another rod grip.

Never having regripped a rod handle, I went into this kinda blind. Probably ordered too big, but I built up the grip a bit with tape and the product fit in place. Hairdryer set on high worked the shrink magic. Took a tad bit longer than I thought it would to get hot, but once it did. It was easy to deal with. Smooth appearance. Long story short, Ii sold the rod I got for free for $27. Worth it.enough left to do 5-6 more split grip. Spinning rods (shorty crappie rods)

OK, this is an easy review. I have an old saltwater trolling rod that I have re-wrapped and used for some 20 odd years of fishing in Baja. As you can see in my prodigious attached photos, the green EVA foam grips have seen better days. I measured the thickest part of the grip (1.25”) and ordered the appropriate Aventik heat shrink rod sleeve (1.6”). I cut a piece slightly longer (appx 1”) than I needed using a square edge to get a proper cut. I started the material at one end of the grip I was working on. Using the heat gun on low I began to shrink the tube. This allowed me to make last second adjustments to get a perfect fit. Then I slowly moved down toward the other end shrinking the tube as I went so it “pushed” any excess material toward the unfinished end. When I was completely done shrinking the tube I used a fresh, sharp razor knife to trim off the excess at the unfinished end. It came out beautiful (see pics) and gave my old rod a fresh, functional, contemporary look. I even had some excess shrink tubing which conveniently fit over the old damaged EVA foam handles on my wheelbarrow. The handles have an angle in them and the tubing shrank to form without any wrinkles or splits...BONUS!!!! All of this coverage and super easy application for $10. Five stars!
