I’m really impressed with the BLACK+DECKER 1.7L Cordless Electric Kettle! It boils water super fast—way quicker than my stovetop—and the auto shutoff and boil dry protection are great for peace of mind. The cord-free pouring is super convenient, and I love the sleek stainless steel design. It’s perfect for busy mornings when I need my water fast. Highly recommend!

I bought this as a replacement some months ago for another electric kettle that no longer worked. It heats as quickly as my previous one. However, the reason for 4 vs 5 stars is that there are plastic indicators of water volume inside the pot (which I did not realize when I bought it). I don't like the idea of boiling plastic of any kind. If and when this fails I will be sure to check that such inserts are not present.

Black and Decker is a brand that usually never fails. In this kettles case, I honestly feel like it does its simple job. Heat the water quickly (3 minutes tops) and that's that! It does shut off automatically but unfortunately, you don't know whether it's heating until a few seconds in. When it's done boiling, there's just a loud click that announces when it's done. No lights or nothing. If you leave the kettle unattended, the water will start getting cold.A person as forgetful as I am, I honestly find this at a disadvantage.

Es muy útil ya que hierve el agua muy rápido y es muy sencilla de usar, eso sí creo que es un poco ruidosa

I've never had an electric kettle, but was convinced by my friend's fast, easy, multi-cup boiler. Turns out, this is great! I don't really like the stuff on the inside of the kettle (rod going down with plastic 1-3 cup measuring device), because it's hard to dry the kettle out with that, and I just plain don't want boiling water and plastic in the same space. This is a serious design flaw, what with the current state of platics in everything, including our bodies. It could easily have been made with stainless steel. It looks like the plastic part should be removable, but I tried, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it. But the water boils quickly, stays really hot, and pours easily. I kind of wish it was about half the size, but it's okay and as space-efficient as it can be. I really like it overall!

Full pot boils in about 6 minutes. I bought it for 15.00/used like new because the last 3 kettles I had died within a year or less. They were off-brands. I know from experience that Black and Decker has amazing customer service, so I'm not worried about any problems. This kettle feels solid. The base could be a little heavier so it would stay in place, but that's also true of all the ones I've had before. The style is a little retro mod, which I like. There's no silicone grippy bit on the lid, so if your fingers are wet, it can be a little tricky to remove. I do like that there is no hinge on the lid. The hinged lids can be more difficult to clean.Notes on care: boil some vinegar in it when you see whitish deposits. Those deposits are the minerals from yout tap water. They will flake off and make your hot beverage look yucky if you don't run some vinegar regularly. If you use bottled or distilled water, you won't get the deposits. Also, wipe it down with vinegar to get the white water spots off the outside. Good kettle, good price, good company.
