I have had my new Caraway pans now for about 3 weeks, and in that time I have come to absolutely love this brand as I knew I would. The box was very well protected and the pans were packed in such a way, that I will keep the box and use it to pack them when I move. My set came with a lid holder and a magnetic sectional pan holder.I would recommend reading the instructions before you use these pans....some would say, it's only a pan....but no, these are not just "only pans" these are beautifully designed and highly functional cookware that is not just your average cook ware. You can see this when you look at them and you can feel this when you hold them, they are a high quality item and expertly made, with specifics in low heat cooking and they look soooooo good too! They feel sturdy and look very minimal and elegant. I decided to give the smaller frying pan a try out with a fried egg or two:) I have been using coconut oil for a few months now, I buy it from the health section of my supermarket, in solid form. I find it healthier (look up its benefits) and actually I like the taste better than any other oils. A small amount (1 teaspoon) of oil in the pan then I put on my induction hob to start to heat up the pan, I put it on setting 3, and left it whilst I organised making toast and putting the bacon into the air fryer. By the time I had done that, the pan had started to gain the heat as the coconut oil was melted so I cracked two eggs into the pan.....I could see the egg whites starting to turn white.....I decided not to cover the pan (the larger pan that I now use to make soup in, has a lid that fits perfectly on this smaller frying pan so that is perfect to use instead of having another lid the same size. I started to prepare my toast on the plate and the bacon onto the plate, and by that time I could see that my eggs were almost done. I tested the egg whites with my silicone spatula and they were cooked perfectly, and easily came away from the pan surface. I switched off the hob and prepared my plate next to it and then I gently divided the eggs making a line in the egg whites and separated them with my flat silicone spatula, and then I tipped the pan towards my plate, and the eggs literally slid off the pan and onto my toast, and the pan was as clean as a whistle without a mark on it and with just a few beads of coconut oil remaining. Success! I have never ever had that happen before with a fried egg in any pan even when brand new!!! This is a revelation to me! Plus the eggs, were so perfect that I had to take a moment and just genuinely appreciate how it felt to have just made fried eggs that looked and tasted so perfect! So in the instructions it says to wait for the pans to cool before you wash them, due to not stressing out the metal by plunging into a lower temperature.....so that is what I did, I let the pans cool and then washed them by hand with a mild soap and soft sponge and in seconds it was rinsed and drip drying on the drainer. I decided to finish drying them with a 100% cotton tea towel to remove any remaining water, then I popped them back into the draw. Job done to perfection and I knew at that moment that these pans deserved the highest credit and the money was absolutely well spent. Each component of these pans is of the highest quality, so the saying you get what you pay for is very true in this instance.I have watched a toxicologists report on the dark teflon style coatings that are really really toxic to us and the environment, and now that I had my new pans, I decided to ditch the pans that I had, only keeping my set of 3 stainless steel pots, and that was it. None of my other pans worked with my induction hob, but I kept the stainless steel ones in case I move and did not have an induction hob, or I might give them to my son for cooking rice/pasta/potatoes, when he moves. These Caraway pans deserve to be looked after like they are expertly crafted items, because they are. Anything that you appreciate, needs to be looked after and not abused, and they will not fail you. They are made purposely to work on lower temperatures, so you need to give them 5 minutes to heat up on the lower temperature and then you can put in your foods and even lower the temperature a notch as the metal of the pan retains the heat very well. Once they have heated up, they cook at level 3 on my induction hob and I have literally not needed to put the level higher, the metal in the pan heats up and retains its heat so that the food is cooking even though the level is low. If you put it consistently at a higher temperature you may find that your pans do not stay the way they were when they were new. Now that might sound a bit odd, but if a product is made to be used in a certain way, and if you don't use it in this way, you are going to change something about it over time for sure, so it is up to each individual, who can understand how they have been made to work on a lower temperature and respect that. It may be that the heat from a gas oven may, if on too high, might go up the sides of the pan also and that heat will damage the sides too…so care needs to be taken.I can see these pans lasting me for a long time.....they are a pleasure to cook with and I have always loved something that has been carefully and intentionally designed with elegance and functionality all in one. I have been using only wooden and silicone utensils for a few years now and 100% recommend that the owner of the house explains how these pans should be used so that they are cared for by all who use them. it would be a shame if they get ruined because they were used as other pans….the lower temperature is very important as once it has been used on too high a heat, the next person who uses it may find that it is starting to burn……All the family should know about the care of them, and the cleaning too and how they have to cool down first and that way, you will ensure that you have a great product every time you cook. In the past, family members have ruined my pans by using metal utensils and burning the food with not enough oil, once that has happened, not only do the pans surface decline rapidly but they will leach toxins into your food constantly. That is why it is imperative to respect the instructions given by the manufacturers...it makes logical sense! So to summarise*These pans are made to be used on a lower temperature*Avoid putting the pans into cold water when still hot (same goes for adding in cold water when still hot)*Wash with soft sponge and normal washing up liquid (never with the abrasive side, and if there are any stubborn marks, use a microfibre cloth and some gentle pressure with your fingers to remove, this will mean that you have had the temp too high or not enough oil)*If possible, finish off drying with a cotton tea towel and store back in its usual place.I hope this has been of help to anyone thinking of purchasing them.

I am so proud of my new Caraway cookware! Each pan/skillet is absolutely beautiful, cooks evenly, is heavy duty and I feel good about not adding any chemicals to the food I prepare for those I love. I have never taken such good care of anything in my kitchen!! I bought all new silicone utensils and I make sure to carefully hand wash each piece, using a soft sponge brush to clean. I plan on having these stunning pieces for a long time! I did my research for quite a while, and I believe I made the best choice for our family. If you are on the fence, spend the money!

My daughter had purchased this set and I was house sitting for her and used the cookware. I loved it for easy cleanup and nonstick surface. Also loved the way it made cooking easier. So I bought a set for my house. Highly recommend!

The only reason I bought these pans is my concern about leaching elements and my brain...and Alzheimer's.The bad first -# 1: Do not throw away the lids to the pots you have! This was my first mistake. If you want to reach for a domed lid to cover say a burger to melt cheese on a plate or a grill type pan (which I have) - the Caraway lids are as flat as a pancake. This is an issue for me. If you want to "rest a piece of meat" and cover with a domed lid on a plate, you are out of luck.# 2: They're heavy. They feel heavier than most pans I have had in the past. Have I weighed them and compared? No, but they feel heavy - that's it.# 3: If you want to see what's going on and you're used to glass lids...forget it. I do miss seeing whatever I am cooking without having to lift the lid. Removing the lid removes heat and steam. Annoying.# 4 Limited choices with pans. I miss many of the "in between" sized pans/pots I had. Hopefully they will offer more. Update: they may offer more but I will not be buying this brand again.# 5 The vent holes. Why? The lids have a tiny hole to vent steam. If you cook rice in the sauce pan, it lets out enough steam that the rice does not cook appropriately.#6 The handles! OUCH. Come on - can't you even coat them with silicone?, be careful you don't burn yourself. The good - (update) -only #2 still stands.#1 - They clean easily enough...at the beginning. Nothing is ever stick free for long...but it is almost a year and these are not wearing well. They’re not true nonstick for very long but (I don’t feel any nonstick is truly nonstick for very long.) Ok 10 months and they are showing leftovers remain - never get quite clean enough.# 2 - The overall heating is consistent, it's even...no hot spots. Just seems right to me. Some pans/pots seem to have issues with even heating. I'd give good kudos in that sense.Would I recommend? NO. Almost a year now and I just think they are too expensive for what you get. I prefer glass tops. I want DOMED lids - they serve a purpose. These pans feel too heavy - not cast iron heavy, but they are heavy. Not enough pan sizes, and this amount of money it is not worth it. And the handles! OUCH. Come on - can't you even coat them with silicone?, be careful you don't burn yourself. If I recall, the manufacturer states something like " no high heat etc." well you know what? Some things need a little more heat? I cannot cook everything on low to medium heat.

My wife and I don't cook often, but the cookwear we had for years was looking worn and with such good reviews, we decided to try these. We've used less than 5 times, only hand wash, and they are already chipping! How can this even be possible? Have a feeling Amazon has sold us not-original product. Disappointed is an understatement. Such a waste of money!
