Works great, seems undamaged after some heavy rock chiseling, which is about what I expect from Diablo tools.

The case seals, latches, and locks just fine. The case I received was completely bowed out from the inside. The foam doesn't sit in the case properly, the hinges are laboured when opening or closing the case, and one of the latches gets caught when trying to open it.I have ordered three other Pelican cases through Amazon in the past and they all arrived completely flawless. I assume I received a lemon, I never tried for a refund. The case I received is serving its purpose, fine enough.

Solid case that works great for my revolver. Other ones by Pelican were just a bit on the big size this one holds my handgun, gun lock, and some rounds perfectly. The handle on it is spectacular. The handle is one of the most comfortable handles for a an object that I've held. Locks seem a bit on the cheep side but i have yet to have a problem with them so no complaints there. It comes with pluck and pick foam. Personally I am not a fan of this style of foam but the local hardware store sells some for cheap so it is easy to replace. This case unlike other pelican cases I have, has a lid that only open 90 degrees instead of full 180 degrees. I personally like this.

I was looking for a Pelican case that I could use for storing/carrying wrist watches. Here's how NOT to do that (i.e., how I did it): go to Amazon, search "Pelican case," and look thru all of them trying to find a size that is suitable. Here is the EASY way to do that (I discovered later): go to your favorite search engine, type in "Pelican watch case," and voila!! You will find articles from people who have already done this. Can save you much time. Turns out, I immediately saw an article from a well-known watch review site that was a "how-to" article on how to make a Pelican case suitable for watch storage. And wouldn't you know, it was this 1470 case. Fortunately, it was the same one I had already picked out from Amazon.Once it arrived, it took me about an hour or so to pluck out the foam to make room for my watches. This is the ideal size case for watches, IMO. The case is about standard briefcase size, and I can fit 18 watches in mine, plus a little pocket left over for straps, etc. The watches are extremely well protected in this case, and I love that it comes with built-in dual locks in the latches. Plus you can also add padlocks (2) if you want additional security. The case is very strong and waterproof, the foam is soft and will easily protect whatever you put inside the case. I think it's a reasonable price too, considering the quality of the case.

I purchased this Pelican case to store and transport handguns. There is sufficient room and padding to allow for 2 compact semi-automatics and 4 10rd magazines. The amount of flotation this case provides is more than sufficient to keep the above contents from sinking. The pick and pull foam insert allows for easy customization and this can be fine tuned with a razor blade as needed. The grip is excellent and works almost as well when it's wet than dry.As with every Pelican case I've owned the pet peeves of the design and operation are overshadowed by the performance of the case itself. My main gripe is to un-latch and open the case still requires you to press down (with effort) on the lid. This makes normal 1-handed opening of the case almost impossible. Opening is made more difficult if the item inside the case is slightly too large and is exerting force on the two halves. If you have weak fingers or bad wrists this case latch design might require some practice or special technique to make opening both feasible and less painful. The written Pelican Lifetime Warranty says that "heat" related damage is not covered. And Pelican isn't talking about fire damage... anything above "normal" temps (what is normal?) may be grounds to possibly void the warranty. I have from time to time locked cases up in a car, storage facility, Sea/Land container, etc. and they do get extremely hot. I did manage to warp one case a few years ago but was able to fix it by getting the case back up to elevated temps and then tweaking it back into shape by hand.Amazon's delivered price was the best I could find. The item arrived in excellent condition.
