I was able to fit my Starlink in it and still have room to add more into it.

So I ordered one of these to carry all my gear on a trip to Europe. I was able to fit all my drum gear and clothing into this and figured my problem was solved, right? WRONG. The boss said "Keep every piece of luggage under 50lbs and we're good!"By itself this case adds 34lbs to the overall weight with no foam so that kinda killed my expectations. Since I bought one used and got a really great deal on it, I cannot rightfully return it (nor would I want to for the price I got!) so now I have a really big freakin' case that can hold a small child if need be.Pelican makes amazing stuff.

The case arrived, opened the box and two of the pins holding in the locking clips we sticking out more than half way. I had to a tap and hammer to set them all the way in. After the first trip on a plane the case is really hammered... lots of cuts a discoloration from impacts. Makes me wounder what Pelican is using now? I have owned Pelican cases for decades.... But this one, doesn't look like it is holding up real well after just one trip?

Excellent product, I use it as a travel case fir my hexacopter/drone, and trust it with my equipment. Nice fit&finish. Pluck-out foams work great to shape them for the equipment you need.

I purchased this case to transport an expensive, 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt computer monitor to and from work.First impressions: The case is HUGE! Funny story ... I had the case shipped to the hotel I was staying at. When I got back to the hotel after work the day it arrived, the young lady behind the reception desk said "You got a HUGE box delivered today. What is it?" I replied, "It's a big Pelican case," to which she said "Well, you must have a REALLY BIG pelican to need a case that big!"Like all Pelican cases, the 1690 is built like a tank, purpose-built to take whatever abuse you can throw at it.The lid latches (there are a LOT of them) are rugged and well designed. Some of the women at work joke that they know when I'm leaving work for the day, because they can hear the latches being locked down on the case (ka-CHUNK, ka-CHUNK, ka-CHUNK, ...).The carrying handles are well designed and tough-as-nails too.The collapsible trolley handle can seem a little flimsy when you're toting the heavy case over terrain ... but it gets the job done.I would highly recommend this case to anyone that needs to transport large, fragile or sensitive equipment.
