It works as adverised. However It did not come with a cookbook as advertised. I couldn't find the manufacturer to order additional food tubs that hold the food in the heat tube either. Seems to be an identical knockoff selling for less.

I have a handful of this type of solar oven-mostly smaller units like the Gosun Sport and had good luck with them. They were all too small to cook more than one thing at a time, so I started looking for larger ones. I bought this stove first for a friend and was envious of it and quickly bought one for me-it proved to be a game changer-I can brown enough meat for a 3 person dinner (6 chicken drumsticks, or 3 pans with pork loin in an hour and a half in full sun. Even on cloudy days it will fully cook the same meat in 2 hours without browning it. Baking cakes is no problem, potatos, boiling water, etc. Everything seems to take about an hour to an hour and a half in full sun-there is a learning curve but bottom line is that these thing aren’t a joke. And I liked this particular solar oven that I bought a THIRD one so I could make sides along with the meat for my wife and I at our cabin. Pro-Tip: Get an inexpensive temperature probe-it’s a game changer: No more guessing if it’s done or not. They are soo cheap now that there is no reason not to have one and most work with an app so you don’t have to babysit your meal.

Works exactly how you'd expect a solar stove to operate. It needs to be sunny, but it doesn't need to be warm. Relatively large internal area for camping or off-grid cooking. Unlike a camping stove or fire, no supervision needed - just put in your food, go for a hike, and come back to a cooked/warmed meal. Very little effort needed.Good construction and sufficiently lightweight in its carrying case. Should last a good long while. The hard-boiled (baked?) eggs in particular taste especially good! The baking seems to permeate a pleasant yolky sulphury taste and texture to the whole egg - sounds a bit weird, but tastes great, give it a try.

The oven uses black straps to hold the reflector in place when it is in the cooking position, which is unfortunate because if you think about it from a solar perspective, the black color absorbs all of the heat therefore, I started to get spots just after a few days of use where it burned holes through the strap and ultimately wound up returning it. I would consider keeping it and repairing it, but for the money that it cost, I want a product that I don’t have to worry about failing when I paid this much

I bought this for emergency preparedness. I live in Western Oregon, and it is partly cloudy a lot. Because of the vacuum tube, this works when other solar cookers don't. I have had this two days. The first day, under partly cloudy skies, it got up to 240 degrees and cooked white rice in 1 1/2 hours. Today, I tried cooking whole-grain einkorn that I would normally cook on the stovetop for 1 to 1/12 hours. I put it in the solar oven while cursing the partly-cloudy sky that made shadows intermittent. Because of the sky condition, the oven only got up to 220 degrees. I didn't check the einkorn for five hours. Big mistake - it was way over-cooked and mushy by the time I finally opened it! Very impressive. I can't wait to try it with beans; this time with a shorter cooking window.I love this cooker; I'm hoping that someone will make sturdier cooking pans for it.
