What I was told ahead of time is also the most important piece of advice I would give to anyone else looking to buy one: This is the chorus pedal for players who don't like chorus pedals and so much more.HOLY FREAKIN' BUCKETS, BATMAN! No hyperbole, no overstating the case. This little unit is what I have been searching for years to find. This is my Roman Empire. This is my Holy Grail. Yeah, it really is that good.Okay, first up, yeah, it's not a fire and forget pedal, though with the enclosed settings cards, it's darn close. So, to the prior commenter who said they returned it because it was so unintuitive, you obviously don't read instructions or don't do research before blowing your money. Frankly, you don't deserve this little marvel and I'm glad you sent it back. It's actually not that hard to set up in order to get a huge, lush, gorgeous sounding tone - and I'm running it in mono. I can only imagine how much better it would sound running in stereo or a wet-dry-wet rig. Using just one of the settings cards as a starting point, specifically the H3000MicroPitch card, and tweaking the knobs a bit, I had the sound I was looking for. No kidding, within 5 minutes of integrating it into my board, I was absolutely blown away. But there is SO much more functionality under the hood, if you really want to get into the guts of it. With the downloadable software, you can dial in everything to exact specifications. Just don't forget to save back to the pedal (and locally on your PC/laptop as well for safe keeping) before exiting! Also, the folks on the Eventide forums are super helpful when asking questions about 'hidden' features, like using an expression pedal with the unit, even if they may be typical beginner questions and kinda dumb. I found a super helpful and patient mod that spoke directly to me and answered all my dumb questions within minutes of posting. That is some serious street-level customer service! But even after only messing with the settings for a few minutes, my GF could instantly tell the difference and remarked about how much better my rig suddenly sounded. That alone was worth the price of admission! Now, I'm an old fart - I've been playing everything from blues to thrash metal since the early 80's. My tone is high gain, chuggy, and very 'in your face' modern metal. However, I've been using chorus pedals to sweeten and thicken my tone almost since the beginning. The problem, for me, has always been the whooshy nature of chorus pedals that ended up muddying my tone. I've hated that I had to put up with the modulation aspect of chorus pedals just to get that chimey, thick goodness I've known and loved for 40+ years. I could never afford a rack with a pair of H910's back in the day and have always been stuck with having to settle for the cheap idiot cousins, instead. Well, no more. So, if you take nothing else away from this rant/glowing review, understand this: You want that Boston/Pink Floyd/EVH kind of flavor to add to your sound? THIS is what you're looking for. THIS is the pedal you've been after. Seriously, all the sweetness, all the thickness, and none of the whoosh. It really is a no-brainer and is totally worth the price.

Absolutely brilliant, however take time to understand and read manual, watch you tube reviews and settings and learn. The eventide device manager lets you have 41 more presets which you can tweak and save up to 127 presets, more than enough. Most people who would purchase already have an understanding of the sounds that can be created, not just for guitars but keyboards and double tracking vocals, Its a no brainer, I would say if you only can have one or two audio processors then match it up using a good compressor pedal running into this little beaut, let you're creativity unwind. Very good purchase, not cheap but in my view essential.

You would need to invest a lot of time to learn this pedal. The sounds were underwhelming, matching with how unintuitive it is to use I decided to return.
